marriage- its a done deal, better situated for an "oops" that might occur with people these days. people rush something that isn't worth all the hype it has been pushed up to be. People think that sex is what makes the world go round and that its the best thing that ever happens to them. To do it in moderation with a life companion around puberty- 20's - is proved to be "healthy" for terms of depression and other clinical depressions. In my opinion, the amount of rape that has occurred in the past 50 years has gone up so much because of the celebrities and other poperotsy (however you spell it) and the "importance" of sex. If people wouldn't hype it up so much that its the best thing that occurs at "17" many pregnancies would not occur. Kids start having sex at about 14 these days- it, in my opinion, is not right. Earlier sex, in my belief, could cause later mental problems into marriage break ups- this does not effect ever Tom and Dick out there. And the people who stay virgins till after their 30's who have been raised abnormally, have a greater chance to become a rapist or some type of sex hopper. i could care less what you people think about sex being at 14- possible ruining of peoples lives. Oh well, words go unheeded, choui.

not that you have that idea, but the age of maturity and brain power in most teens has actually upped into mid 20s before people have enough common sense to think ahead. Being only 17, i think maturity ages around me are that of 10 year olds. I've moved multiple times and ive noticed that the kids dont ever age, they all that same brain age of 10 years old (variants, just an example)

Whenever you and your partner are ready I suppose, but aside from the sexual risks, you've got to make sure that the person's parents like you and that they wont find out. If they don't like you or they don't like the fact that you had sex with their child they can press charges on you for rape until the age of 17 even if the other person says it wasnt rape.

I don't think there is a "perfect" age for sex because everyone develops differently and at different paces so that one person could be ready while one person could be completely dumbstruck by simple reproduction lingo. If I had to pick an age, maybe 19, or 23.
