Regardless of the level of the user, or of the amount of work a person put into it, if a flash is crap, it should be blammed.

I have no understanding of flash. I tried the trial version once, and I had difficulty switching frames.
Mind you, I was...inebriated at the time.
But if I were to make a movie of a stick man dancing, and it took me four months of solid work to do it, should it be saved? I think not.

Everyone knows that a great deal of time and effort goes into a flash movie, but Newgrounds isn't meant to be a site for Girl Guides making everyone feel good about doing their best. We save quality, blam crap.

1. doing a stick movie doesnt take 4 months of hard work unless u are retarded

2. people are discouraged from making any more flash movies if they spend a lot of time on one and it is blammed with reviews saying "blam this piece of shit, i can do better i just dont feel like it".

3. lower quality flash dont take up much bandwith because not much people watch them.

4. most n00bs just go to the flashes under judgment and vote on them without watching to get blam points

5. you sound like an asshole, no offense...

yeah, u got a lot of good points there. ill just have to live with it the way it is. but i still REALLY think there should be a thing where if a flash goes under a certain score after judgment it is deleted...

You seem to want to protect the flash author that might not get stuff protected, so why try to enable these protected movies to be blammed after judgement?!

You seem to acknowledge that bandwidth is an issue, so please also realize that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" - especially since "fixing" it only increases bandwidth usage, increases poor voting tactics, and increases flash author unhappiness.

because movies like the precious B2 cannot be deleted, and people use this fault to get turd of the week

Don't mess with B dude!
And in case you didn't know, a movie has to have a score of 1.67 to not kick the bucket at 100 votes. That's still reasonably high I guess....

I was marking abuseive reveiws by an outwar spammer and I decided to save time by just going onto his profile and clicking on to read all his reviews. Every time I marked one the window went back to the reviews for that submission. Im not sure what would need to change to keep this from happening, but it would be nice.

About the whistle power, I have a question. How many correct blows does it takes to enter a higher rank? How many to fall down one? I would suppose that number to be the same.
Are these facts hidden, because I haven't seen answers to this any place, and I looked quite a lot.

Definitely need more genre categories on the Audio Portal. My stuff that I'm adding doesn't fall into any of those categories and I'm really not inclined to throw it into the mess that is 'Miscellaneous'.

A 'Piano-based' section would be cool, for stuff that isn't classical. Also it definitely needs an 'Acoustically-based' section for music that isn't Rock or Electronic (or Bluegrass :-)

I don't know how many I have, I have only got normal.
Maybe it is 20 blows per rank? That seems awfull a lot to me.

Nah, it's really not all that long. Just go to the front page and spot 2-3 spammers, and go through their reviews and mark them. You can easily get 40 in one run.

That is a good way to get a higher rack. But if you want to do it the hard way, only flash movies and reveiws you accidentally see, it is A LOT!

As far as I know, the whistle ranks are determined on a sliding scale by the user(s) with deity ranking - akin to levels 10 through 29 are based on the user(s) who have attained level 30.

Yeah, that's what I suspected, and that's pretty annoying, considering there are only 3 levels above normal. That's too happy for my taste. And you must have a crap load, as I've not seen even one user with a gold whistle, yet you have the Deity. :(

That all sounds doable. Can I just say - I love the music you've been putting in there the past couple of days.

I just had an idea.. You know your classic NewGrounds Tank Logo in the top left of every page.. Well, when people enter the forums I think that the tank logo should have 'forum' tagged across it in like another colour or something.. Same goes with the portal perhaps and toons etc. etc.

I dunno if you would even read this, but I think that would look pretty cool.. Sort of like a 'top secret' label across it but instead with 'forum'.. meh anyways get back to work..

make a new section for movies under judgement, and u get a choice to either blam it or save it. and in the first 100 votes use majority rules so if it had like 51 blams and 49 saves it gets blammed. if a movie has 50 blams and 50 saves, tom gets to decide its fate. this would also make newgrounds look like it truly supports its nations government system, lol. anywho, if the movie stays it goes to the 50 recent and voting continues as normal. and i really doubt this is gonna happen

Please no edit button.. Too much confusion arises from it.. Like one person may say something hateful and then take it back later and people wont know what the fuck was going on when there was people flaming others and shit. Please no edit button, just read what you type..

Add a 0X0 iframe of the page that takes up the most bandwidth on outwar/pornstarguru to EVERY page on NG. With the amount of hits NG gets daily, it'll cause those bastards at outwar to pay a lot more if they want to keep their precious spam site.

The point is... Don't lose your dinosaur.

Yea that would get those sites attention. I am waiting for the review mod thign to be put in place. Maybe a more severe puinishment for outwar or pornstar being put on the site. The additional stuff for the audio portal sound cool.

In the audio portal, I know it says wether a sounds been used in a submission or not, but I was thinking having a list, like a most recent used in a movie/game list or something.
Or might that be covered a little once A-Bot starts posting?

Also more portal stats like:
favorite artists by bookmarks (makes more sense then number of movie/games veiwed) .
list of the tudrs, under dogs, reveiwcrew pick, ect. like the daily feature list .
top 10 people who've gotten blamed the most =D .
top ten people who have the most portal awards
Damn, forgot the rest.

Also, this mysteriuos point sytem for flash authors you've been hinting at, is that based off of the portal award points? Maybe you could add them up for the year and have a god of the portal heheh. Maybe add some princes along with the king or something, *shrugs* .

Anywho, thanks for all your hard work James, {{{}}} ...
