Because the highest user is lvl 50. When he gets to level 60, he'll start raising the bar for all the other levels and experience needed.

Truth is, you started too late. Its not gonna take the level 50 user 20 years to get level 60. The gaps were widened over time, so back in '99 it would've probably taken a year or so to get to the highest level.

1) The new level icons are now in full effect! This seems to be the only feature most people cared about. We now have 60 levels and we've ditched the user-generated curve, so you won't LOSE levels when you're inactive. Go check out your new level and ACCEPT YOUR FATE.
