I think Haggard already gave you a decent solution. PM Corky or whoever is the account holder what your old password was and any other details you filled in that other people can not possibly know (email address, school and that sort of stuff). That way you can prove you are really DoD to him.

By the way, as far as I know the admins are of the opinion that YOU ought to take care of your own account. You ought to make sure that you can access your own account and if you give the password away to someone else it's at your own risk.

Bahamut, Washu is right, I should not have given my account away to anyone. I did pm both Corky and Wade about the matter, so hopefully, I will get my old account back as soon as possible.

I have nothing to do with the account anymore. I have no clue what the password is and it's own by the newgrounds administrators now. It's up to you to get it back, I don't have it.

I highly doubt it's the real D-of-D though. Probably someone who just did their homework by looking at post history for a little bit.

You know, it's really nice to hear a shout out from lurkers, especially courtday in this case for thanking me for the updates on his userpage message, even thought not once has he posted here. :)

Thanks for the update, Bahamut - looks like I've managed to make a little move this week, but it's still locked at 14th... again.

Oh well, the gap closes slightly on Ehwaz and with that, I'm closing in on ReconRebel. With his pace, I'm going to be within 8k within a week and still closing the large gap to Ehwaz. I just want to try and catch him before I ascend to 100,000 B/P, which would be momentous!

Before I can restart b/ping, there is one issue that needs to be solved as soon as possible. Before I left in January 2009, I gave my account to someone who I thought that I could trust. But that person turned out be a hypocrite as he changed my password without informing me. As a result, I could no longer log in using my DoD account. I tried to contact Tom a few months ago, unfortunately, he has not replied to my email yet. Rather than talking to the guy with whom you put the account in trust, and saying "hey why did you change my password," you contacted Tom (who is the wrong person to contact anyway, and having been around all those years you should know that).

Now you storm in here claiming to be DoD, conveniently after the account has changed hands and is no longer controlled by the person who knew what was going on. Again, rather than contacting Fro/Corky, your first stop is this thread, where you post a laundry list of publicly available factoids and claim that proves you are who you say you are. Not only that, but posting such a list and making the kind of threat you did in the journal Friday posted smacks of someone who's 13 and trying to act like a big man, rather than a University student.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't track. byteslinger didn't say it, but I will: I think you're lying. I don't think you're who you claim to be, and I think you're trying to take advantage of Corky and Friday into getting something that doesn't belong to you. Wow, such poor grammar at the end of my post. Allow me to correct it:

I hadn't read the post that carefully before. I didn't notice that he mentioned the password was different months ago. This is impossible since I never changed the password in the first place. The password was exactly as Dream-of-Duke had left it.

This really adds to my conclusion that this is someone trying to steal the account because they know of the recent situation.

One of the biggest problems with passwords isn't lack of complexity, but lack of variety. It's entirely possible that you just tried the password that was posted above and it happened to work because DoD used the same password on both accounts. Or it may have been something else simplistic that you were able to guess through trial-and-error. So logging into hot-and-charming doesn't actually prove anything.

However, the content of your post speaks volumes. You don't write anything like how the DoD I used to know and chat with wrote. Never would have written n00b, for one thing. And again, Corky just confirmed that he didn't change the password until a couple weeks ago, so your story about trying to log in a few months ago is failing you.

Bottom line, I still think you're lying, and I would know.

When I said that I was leaving in January 2009, someone volunteered to take care of my DoD account while I was away which I agreed. Unfortunately, I forgot who that person was (he was not such a big deal back in early 2009) when I tried to log in a few months ago. That is why I did not contact him back then.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't track. byteslinger didn't say it, but I will: I think you're lying. I don't think you're who you claim to be, and I think you're trying to take advantage of Corky and Friday into getting something that doesn't belong to you. Now, you can convince Corky that you are who you say you are, and he comes in here and says so, then I'll withdrawal my statement. Until then, however, your story doesn't track, and I think you're lying.

There are only two people who can log in as hot-and-charming here, one is Wade, the other is the real DoD. If you think that I am a protender, how do you explain that I am talking to you with that account? :P

First of all, if DoD used the same password on both accounts, then I would have been able to log in as DoD months ago before the account changed hands since I knew the password of the hot-and-charming account. Coop knows that I post the same way as DoD would. Seeing that your level is relatively low and your user name is relatively new, I do not think that you know me nearly well enough to make a fair judgement. One last thing: how do you know that Corky was not lying when he said that he never changed the password?

Bottom line, I still think you're lying, and I would know.

Thanks Bahamut. I thought reaching it would feel epically awesome. But after acquiring the final badge it was more so a "Now what?" kind of feeling.

There is now permanent record of me reaching position 24 in this list, the highest I have ever attained! The fact that I've probably already lost it to Gagsy, and that it will likely be over a year before I reclaim it is besides the point... I just found enough time last week to pass azteca in time, despite being away at a wedding all weekend. Yes, you can list a lot of things about yourself claiming you are, but I CAN insist that you are not simply by saying that other people knew those facts as well even though I think that you are who you are deep in my heart. Back on topic: I have a couple weekends in a row to myself again this month, so I should be able to challenge harryjarry for top spot again (even though I don't have enough to be on the list). The only potential setback is that I have a lunch meeting on Wednesday, which will likely cost me about 10-20. I'm still a few thousand shy, so I'm keeping track myself. I just logged my stats, and I've gone back through the portal to see what I voted on since the last update, and I need to remember to add 36 to the difference between the log I just did and the log I'll do next Sunday.
