I hear ya! Got a few irons in the fire, but nothing solid yet. Been doing a few little patch jobs here and there to bring in the rent money and buy the occasional can of tuna. I have seen a trend in more activity for programming consultants - now, I just have to find the ones that I can do. I think within the next month or two (I hope) something more will present itself, and I'll have at least part-time work coming in.

But I'm becoming very fond of being online at NG - the whole "Blam/Protect" thing is at least validating my existence at this point - I'm not a complete couch potato.

I'm quite lucky in ways I guess.. My job is shit but I get unlimited internet access (shh don't tell my boss). I'm actually typing this right now from work, and so I b/p all the time I'm here usually and then I'm a laptop potato when I get home. I also don't really get much sleep now, so I B/P into the wee hours and then get like 5 hours sleep max usually. Basically if I'm indoors I will have my laptop on and ready for B/Ping, even if I'm doing other stuff, I will go refresh the portal every 30 minutes - 1 hour just to look for new flash to vote on.

=3 I worry me.

Somewhere back in '06, Afro_Stud used to write extremely long reviews that needed 3 accounts to be posted in full. Since the maximum character limit wasn´t implented for nothing, the mods dissagreed with Afro writing reviews with that size and I believe even a few of them got deleted for that reason.

Afro got pretty pissed at this after a while and decided to quit reviewing. So then he only went to the BBS, but after some time he again had some disagreements with the moderators. He thought that too many topics in the Wi/Ht? got locked or deleted without any good reason. So then he only posted the list update for this list every week. Some time later he quits and so he left the BBS. Now he only gains BP points and deposits and that´s it.

I believe that was pretty much the whole story. He wrote a rant about it somewhere, but I can´t quite remember where.

I think both sides had a point. Afro did put a lot of effort in his reviews and they were surely very helpful. So deleting them was a bit uncalled for. I mean, the authors are probably happy with them (or at least those that care about improving their work) and they´re not bothering anyone else. Plus they set a good example for all those people who only write one liners or two worders.

But on the other hand, I don´t think it´s really necessary to use 10,000+ characters to make your point clear. His reviews lenght probably could´ve been divided in two and still state the same opinions and arguments.

On top of that, he was giving 3 overall scores which means his vote was three times stronger than anyone elses vote. Which isn´t really fair I guess. But I think that first thing was the main problem for the moderators.

Well character limits were changed after the redesign and a lot of new review moderator's entered and started enforcing a shit load of rules. Seriously look before the redesign and after and how much crap you can get banned for now with the new mods.

NO COMBO BREAKERS PLEASE!

A few things:

First, next Sunday, my family will be going on holiday to Egypt for a week and guess where I'll be? Right here at home! :D You may wonder why they're going and not me and why I'm happy that I'm not going. Over the last few years, I've lost a lot of fondness with abroad holidays for several reasons which you can find right here. Also, it's best if I stay home incase a workplace I apply to tries to contact me during the time my family's away.

I won't be alone all the time as I'll still be seeing my grandparents, uncle and aunt and my parents have allowed me to invite my friends around on the Friday, so all is good for that week.

Second, the missing fucker is still yet to be found. I'm not sure if Metal-Therapy did check this week or not, but if he's still too busy with work for the next few weeks, I understand. However, as I have the whole house to myself for a week, I can pull an all-nighter on one night and have a look at the recent deposits page myself.

Third, the 12th EXP update is now available.

Alright! I gained 30+ bp a day which is quite a lot for a busy week. In the upcoming week I don´t have to go to my university and my parents won´t be home. So I expect a slight gain in my pace, although I won´t be home on thursday due to a special celebration day here in my county. But I should make a good jump towards Dakka942 :)

Damn, I was just short of 300 for the week, so as a result, I don't think I'll be able to put down the points required to pass Anderson over the next week, considering that I'm going to be busy with my best friend's wedding over the latter half of the week.

Still, I can get myself a lot closer and set him up for the pass the week after.

With Sentio off the grid again, I've got to concentrate on who could be catching me in the near future. In this case, it's going to be Patcoola, so good for me to pull out a whole three points

I experience loading problems on NG quite often, most especially when I try to make a post after an hour since my last one. What's even weirder is last week, my alt accounts didn't have any posting problems, but when I made my first post on my main, it said I couldn't connect to the server yet the post goes through anyway. So why my alts didn't experience any problems but my main did then is beyond me.

Also, I was a little late last night as dinner wasn't ready until 8:30PM, the time when I pull stats from profiles. There'll be some night where I'm running a little late, but I still get it done as soon as I can. :)

No, i do remember having one several months ago and everyone was breaking my balls over such a simple unknowing mistake. By no means was it intentional, it was one of the weeks i forgot to comment on my stats and you were posting the list as i was doing so.

A few things:

First, next Sunday, my family will be going on holiday to Egypt for a week and guess where I'll be? Right here at home! :D You may wonder why they're going and not me and why I'm happy that I'm not going. Over the last few years, I've lost a lot of fondness with abroad holidays for several reasons which you can find right here. Also, it's best if I stay home incase a workplace I apply to tries to contact me during the time my family's away.

I won't be alone all the time as I'll still be seeing my grandparents, uncle and aunt and my parents have allowed me to invite my friends around on the Friday, so all is good for that week.

Sometimes the best vacation you can get is when everyone leaves you alone at home for a while. You can do what you want, when you want - as long as the local law enforcement or news crew is involved! However, you will notice that after the 3rd or 4th day, your personal hygiene may suffer, as you have put off that shower for days, and the clothes you have on won't come off easy because you've been sleeping in them for just as long. Ah, to be single in an empty house!

Second, the missing fucker is still yet to be found. I'm not sure if Metal-Therapy did check this week or not, but if he's still too busy with work for the next few weeks, I understand. However, as I have the whole house to myself for a week, I can pull an all-nighter on one night and have a look at the recent deposits page myself.

Let's get KrevZabijak on it! She works like CSI - maybe she can track it down!

Okay I had a pace of around 20+ until yesterday. I was away nearly the whole day and only got 5 B/P.
But even if I get my pace up to 30 next week ARD (haha, ARD is a TV station in my country -.- ) will pass me next or the following week if she keeps her pace up. Hopefully I have passed Ventar until then so that I stay in the top 100.
Also, Gagsy will pass me in the next 2 or 3 weeks, so I have to pass TheSoulMan to again stay in the top 100.
After that it will be a lot quieter (until byteslinger catches up to me).

I know I wrote about maybe stopping once I reached the top 100 (or 33,333 B/P, I was thinking of that, too) but B/Ping became sort of a habit for me. So I'll just continue until I lose interest completely. But even then I guess I'll vote on UJ submissions to deposit my experience.

If you need any help i will try to look for you sometimes and see if i can find the missing user. But i think you have the best chance if you can look at the latest deposters list, that could only work to some extent though. What if this user does not deposit just like he never posts so we know he exists.
