In a matched daisho set, the hilts are indeed similar, if not identical. It's a matched set, after all.

So I assume the reason whoever made that icon put TWO sword hilts/blades visible... was to suggest the icon is of the "daisho," i.e. both blades a samurai would carry, which are not both full-length.

The daisho = both swords.

The smaller sword is called a wakizashi, shoto, or tanto, just as the longsword is a katana.

You'll never keep a list of that size updated without the proper tools, even to get 300 users updated weekly is very hard work and is mostly done automated, I give that list 20 days tops until it's discontinued, no disrespect and all, but ranks 400 to 1,000 is no big deal and shouldn't be credited anyway.

I looked at that link, and your list so far is full of gaps. There's a bunch of reasons that a top 1,000 list is a bad idea:

1. People can move really fast through those ranks, meaning that if you don't update it every week AT LEAST, it becomes redundant very quickly.

2. Your thread about it was locked when you tried to push the idea in the forums, and for good reason. You'll never keep this fully updated.

3. There's still people that Afro_Stud hasn't found on the top 300 list, who appear as 'Vagrants'. You're dealing with over twice as many users, so it logically follows that you'll have AT LEAST twice as many Vagrants who you can't find.

4. IMO, you're only doing this because you're not in the top 300 and want to be included in something. Once you all get into the top 300 (if you do), then you'll forget about the whole thing.

A lot more than twice. You only need about 4500 points for the top 1000. Because it's so low there'll be a lot of users in the top 1000 who aren't all that active on this site and will be extremely hard to find.

3. There's still people that Afro_Stud hasn't found on the top 300 list, who appear as 'Vagrants'. You're dealing with over twice as many users, so it logically follows that you'll have AT LEAST twice as many Vagrants who you can't find.

A lot more than twice. You only need about 4500 points for the top 1000. Because it's so low there'll be a lot of users in the top 1000 who aren't all that active on this site and will be extremely hard to find.

Quite. I believe they're counting from ranks #301-1,000, which is 700 users. They have maybe 150 so far, by the looks of it.
