No problems, it was interesting project - I've wondered for a while whether I was capable of doing it. Please let me know in detail of any error message you get during use. If I update it, I'll just upload the .exe file (~128kb), so you can just download the latest bugfix version and overwrite the one in the install folder

I've finished checking for errors in my posting like the one EK found, now this post, then the top 50s need to go up, then I'll tinker with your PG to see if I can figure out what I'm doing and get it to do some minis. Afterwards I'll put it through its paces with larger lists and see what happens.

No. Again you read only into a statement that which will allow you to be argumentative. Rank was always my Achilles' Heel in manual pulls, so there were occasional errors, like the one with j00bie. Although I pulled his profile, I forgot to change his Rank column on the spreadsheet, to reflect the new one assigned by NG. I've gone through the AA, AB, and AC lists, and he's the only one with that problem. These are relatively easy to find. Just scan down the Change column looking for a 0, then check for duplicate numbers in Rank near it.

The other issue I mentioned is entirely different, and is no one's "fault." Given that it takes me X time to pull a profile, enter the data, and move on to the next, there is going to be obvious lag time between the rank assigned by NG at recalc time, and the relative total by the time I get to that person and enter their stats. A typical example is this:

295 3 ardeahem 5058 115 19.17
296 0 DaRkSuShi 5059 77 12.83

Given that two hours elapsed between NG recalc and when I got to these people to pull stats, whoever gets up first has a better chance of passing the person ahead of them by the time I get to their stats. As you get further and further into the list, the longer it takes me to get to people, and the greater the discrepancy can be:

928 0 fR0ZEN 1986 11 1.83
929 -3 raaaagh 1977 0 0.00
...
938 -5 Elite_Gaurd_Marr 1957 0 0.00
939 99 Bahamut7 1983 220 36.67

Bahamut7 is "now" 929 (something like 1pm), but at 4:45amEST he was still 939. In the time between when NG gave him a rank and when I finally got to him, (line 1028 of 4357 on the spreadsheet) he had earned ~30 BPs. NG doesn't keep dynamic rankings and I don't even bother to try.

Most (not all) ss members or people related to them don't care about their BA. They have other objectives in their mind unlike an artist that isn't related to their group.

I've noticed. When I bother to care enough to thwart them, I prevent them from "earning" whatever award they happen to have targetted. If that entails bumping a flash up from 1.01 to 1.45, so be it. It still fucks up their BA.

D0GMA passed out until ~10 after that last round of posting. Skiing was a little beyond D0GMA's capabilities at that point, so D0GMA went hiking instead. After one too many ice patches on 50º ridges, D0GMA aggravated an old quad tear and decided it was time to go home. After bookending a nap with a couple of nice, long soaks, D0GMA can hobble around again.

Hall of Shame is up. At some point I'll go digging through SK's TL to try and fill in some of the "Unknown" data ... hopefully before he gets back and replaces the old entries with the new information ;)

No worries on the extra file size for it. When SK put his out most, or all, of us had to go download the .NET files to get it to run. So far it's running fine save for one issue. It's only a problem on my lists and maybe for ramagi as well, but I don't believe it affects anyone else.

With the DM, I defaulted all the Vagrants to a PID of 788, which I know is a blank profile number, so it just spits out Vagrant for that line in the output files. The PG has a stroke when it gets to any of them. I changed them to 999999, as I know gfox is doing nothing with/to that account, so that it would just hand out 0s instead. What I actually get is the entire profile (html tags and all), starting where it's trying to find a non-existent entry like BP rank for someone with no BPs to the end of the profile. Level is going to cause the same problem for the unvalidated accounts (have XP but no rank), but I don't know who that might trouble, as I don't think anyone actually runs these for XP rank.

The blank line it inserts before all the data in the output files is just going to take some getting used to. I love the alert sound, though. Reminds me of one of the healing spells in Wizardy 8 ... a game I really need to install on this PC so I can play it again ;)

Yeah, I'm aware of it. Basically the program runs a open .txt - enter "" - close before connecting, unfortunately that seems to add a line. Thinking about it, it should be easy enough OUTPUT rather than APPEND for the first stat (name), that should solve the problem, and save me having to run the ClearTextFiles Sub

The one really funky thing about the game is that you almost have to make your party out of female characters. As a fight goes on, you lose stamina based upon what you are doing. When it gets below the stamina of whatever you're fighting your are easier to hit and they are harder, and it gets worse the bigger the difference. There's several items that regenerate stamina, but only female characters can equip them. Anytime I have male mercs along for the ride, my cleric has to cast Stamina on them half the battle :-P~~~

I was referring to actually documenting the history of the EGRL and throwing it in the FAQs. The entire FAQ section of the EGRL has been on the back-burner since March ... and Wade & Co. nerfed most of what I had written when they finally got around to updating the NG FAQ in ... um June I think it was.

oh oh talking about your FAQ section! I saw your link that you post in a locked topic about newbies, noobs, etc. It was interesting to read. Just a question: do these definitions come from your opinion, online experience, etc. or did it also come from some searching about the subject (which means your online experience + your opinion + any kind of research = definitions about noobs)? Or does it come from something else that I ignore?
