Greetings upon to ye dudes...I'z got somet'hn i'd like to share..

Everyone is constanly saying that the review moderators are way to busy, so here's a question for ya:
Why not appoint some new ones?

This thread should be able to supply some eager chaps just waiting to get a crack at all them abusive reviews on the almighty giant evergrowing shitheap of flagged reviews...

before someone starts accusing me, i am not talking about myself, because i know you should never ask to become a mod. and even so, i'd be surprised if anyone thought of me as the most valuable choice for mod-ification :P NO, i'm talking about all of those great men and women who helped me achieve Deity status :D *w00t for that* like sonofkirk and CuteAndFuzzy *w00t for them too, bless 'm all*

yea its a good idea and all but fact is there are loads already, they just hardly come on..
as for electing a mod.. its a good idea but fact is you're most likely to vote for someone who you know, rather then someone who deserves it.
and on a final note the other mods will be looking at your candidates performance, but knowing them they wont approve of a newcomer into the group seeing as most of them have been watching over us for many years and have most likely given back a lot more then whistle points.
so as good as your idea is and i approve of it, us regulars don't have much of a say except for a petition, in the end it's up to the golden auras to cast the final judgement...

also i bet loads of people start piling on as much flag points as they can just so they get elected XD!

I'm the most recent addition to the review moderation team, and to be frank, there's no desperate need for any new mods now. Whilst the list is somewhat backlogged, it's by no means beyond our control. If we need more mods, we'll appoint more mods.

A lot of zeros say this needs to be deleted and any user who gives this a 10/10 needs to be deleted too. They're a little old (a year ago) so they might not get deleted, I'm not sure.

Reviews from the last year are OK to flag. The problem (if there is any) is with reviews older than 2005.

I was going to go here to try to get my whistle to be non garbage, but after checking what most of you consider to be abusive reviews, I don't want to anymore.

I got my garbage whistle through flagging a game as stolen because it was an exact copy of a game (minus a few letters) that was already in the portal. Little did i know, that both games came from the same tutorial. The review/whistle system is broken and I don't agree with this thread's idea of an abusive review. I believe a majority of the reviews deleted are done wrongfully so due to harsh criticism.

I'm not trying to insult people or troll, I'm just stating my opinion. I'm probably alone on this, but nothing ever came of keeping your mouth shut.

Most of us are active to varying degrees. However, because a lot of review mods are also mods for other sections of the site, too (BBS, icon, or audio), they have to split their time between the different sections of the site they moderate. :)

There's a difference between harsh criticism and abusive language. Insults are not criticism. Advice on how to make something better is criticism. The concept of an abusive review isn't from this thread, it's from the NG review guidelines. http://www.newgrounds.com/lit/faq/

wow i didn't know you guys were categorized i thought once approved you filtered out all the Shiite throughout the site i mean then i'd understand the amount of work and what not..
but being categorized into a section doesn't seem so bad. although i'm sure it eventually annoys you.

Yes, I saw that paragraph, but chose to ignore it. New mods have always been chosen primarily by the existing moderation team and the staff. That's how things have always been, and how things always will be. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for regular users to choose new mods.

Y'all can conjecture as to who should / might be modded next, but as far as having a say in it goes, I'm afraid to say that it's not gonna happen.
