got a question: if author's reply to someone's review is abusive, and the review not, should I flag the review? what should I do if author is acting like a total asshole?

No, sorry, you can't do anything with the author's response. The review guideline is not related to the author's response, so don't flag a review if the response is "abusive" because you will lose whislte points ; ). But you can check the author's reviews because if his responses are "abusive" he has a "abusive review" potential : ).
