If you send it in, take the HD off and you should get it back within 4-6 weeks. I haven't had any problems with my 360, but I might buy another one so I can have an extra or just to have.

if there was a redish or orange like ring around the power button or whatever, that means its over heated...that is the rind of death for an xbox...just let it kool down if thats a problem u have

For whatever reason, this didn't come as a surprise for me. Actually, I think the failure rates in the USA are roughly 33%. I could be off by a little bit, but I know it's not great. If I get the actual statistic, I'll post it.

If you've gotten a Intercooler, it would make it live longer, trust me, I had mine for almost a year now, and the Intercooler is doing wonders. Except for the fact it's fucking loud.

My friends 360's break alot. It's weird how I only have to touch them once or twice and they're fixed. I apparantly have "the touch"

I know how you feel. My wii was brand new when i got it and the disk drive mechanism was broken. I sent it to nintendo and got it fixed 11 days later. Good luck on getting your 360 fixed.
