Gassing children

Some of you may not take this seriously, but I mean this. I believe children who do not reach a minimal IQ before a certain age should be gassed to death.

Some may be offended by this, but we are not only helping them; we are helping society. I may seem like a joker with a sick sense of humor, but once again I must express my seriousness.

Children who do not reach the minimal IQ of 70 before a certain age should be put to death because they are clearly mental or too slow for society. It will solve a fraction of our overpopulation problem, and it will scare children into studying more and paying further attention in class.

I know it may not be the child's fault for having such a low IQ, but what is the point of living if you're going to end up in the streets? I understand this law will not be put into place, but what do other NG users think about it?

Mostly because I don't agree we have the right to take anyone's life.
However I do agree with you that the ability to learn and retain memory efficiently is no fault of the child. It is not the fualt of anyone. Educating children is a difficult job, there are so many factors involved with helping a child correctly develop the skills nescessary for learning.

Currently our education system fails at helping most schools around our nation, that offers free education to anyone who applies, to help the teaching professonals accomplish their goals at helping children.

I think your plan is flawed, and requires more thought to it. Not everything is as simple as it seems...

Also, It is more the Child's responsibility than the education.

My education has been pretty bad so far, but I made it on my own. I read books to increase my Vocabulary and Memory, and take a curious interest in Life. I watch the news to know what the fuck happens in the real world, and make good decisions from time to time, like Watching the Discovery Channel, or looking something up on the Internet.

I blame the child half the time, because it isn't hard to be even a little bit educated, what with the massive amounts of information at most kid's fingertips. Internet, TV, some Radio stations, even a local Library has facts you could learn of. It's just a matter of giving a shit, and that's where this gassing comes in. This will scare the shit out of kids, and get them interested, no matter how drastic the measure.

It would denature us to violence and death. You would have a much more logic based rather than emotional based link with your family. For example, say you had a son and you realized that he was low (thought not fatally so), you might chose to give him up and it would bring you no guilt, you would do it without emotion.

I don't state this as a negative, so much as a direct consequence. Human persona is bound to change. If things of this nature become enforced, ours will be a much colder, though, arguably, better run, world. I personally have never seen emotions as especially beneficial, and can often be detrimental to potential efficiency. I will admit, however, that it can be a bit of a scary thought to have a world genuinely devoid of emotion.

When a horse breaks its leg, it's generally put down because it is understood that it will never regain its usefulness. Given a world lacking emotion, replace "horse" with "human".

I don't really know how it could be implemented at the moment, anyway. Save takeover, there's really no way to convince people to do this as they are so used to having an emotional attachment to other human beings. You would need to enforce this kind of decree for at least a decade or so to hope for humans to accept it, and even longer for them to see it as "efficient" as oppose to "cruel".
