Help identifying/killing a virus.

Well, my dipshit dumbass cousin mass downloaded a bunch of bullshit again from vague, hidden, unknown sites with unknown, unmarked .exes, so I have to deal with the fact this shit laptop lags EVEN MORE than usual with its shit hardware specs and long use.

I can't even keep IE open for more than a couple minutes, or read Hotmail, because of this incessantly annoying virus that makes it lag, then forces it to close. I don't think it's a keylogger, since I don't know why people would want my hotmail password.

So, Newgrounds, help me find a way to get rid of this annoying thing, because I really, really, really, really would like not to reformat, since I have to download all my stuff, again.

You should try a good AV/AS software. It tends to be spyware that makes your computer run slower than usual.

I recommend ZoneAlarm, though you need to be tolerant of the continuous alerts. Just clicking Accept on everything will get you nowhere. It also needs money.

If you're strapped for cash, you can try AVG Free. That probably won't cure things 100% though.

Before getting a program, have you tried the basics? Like deleting teporary internet files, and other stuff like that? I've had cases similar to this, and after deleting that stuff, it worked fine. Just curious.
