ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

Q: What is the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement?

VHEMT (pronounced vehement) is a movement not an organization. It's a movement advanced by people who care about life on planet Earth. We're not just a bunch of misanthropes and anti-social, Malthusian misfits, taking morbid delight whenever disaster strikes humans. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Voluntary human extinction is the humanitarian alternative to human disasters.

We don't carry on about how the human race has shown itself to be a greedy, amoral parasite on the once-healthy face of this planet. That type of negativity offers no solution to the inexorable horrors which human activity is causing.

Rather, The Movement presents an encouraging alternative to the callous exploitation and wholesale destruction of Earth's ecology.

As VHEMT Volunteers know, the hopeful alternative to the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals is the voluntary extinction of one species: Homo sapiens... us.

Each time another one of us decides to not add another one of us to the burgeoning billions already squatting on this ravaged planet, another ray of hope shines through the gloom.

When every human chooses to stop breeding, Earth's biosphere will be allowed to return to its former glory, and all remaining creatures will be free to live, die, evolve (if they believe in evolution), and will perhaps pass away, as so many of Nature's "experiments" have done throughout the eons.

It's going to take all of us going.

We are both PRO abortion, pro death penalty ,so we are voting in the direction of politicians that support the volintary reduction of human kind.

I naturally expect unanimous support throughout the house and senate from both democrats and republicans in favor of this bi-partisan proposal! It's so nice that we can all finally agree on something!

What's the point of living, we need to keep the planet squeaky clean for that one day when dolphins grow legs and reclaim their rightful place as the rulers of land on earth.

Learn about natural history, most planets go throw natural climate change that make's them uninhabitable, and most species went extinct long before humans came into existence. Not to mention the some mass extinction events have been directly related to climate change caused by microbes in earth early history. Were do you think oxygen came from? You are insane and your movement must be stopped!!!!!!! I agree that we are ruining the planet but self extermination isn't an answer its insanity. I might be one of the most pessimistic people around when it comes to human nature, but even I believe we can change. My god that is extreme.

Whenever someone devotes that much time and energy explaining what they aren't you can be pretty sure it's what they are. Takes a lot of the work out of making fun of them. These are the people who are hypocrates everytime they eat something healthy or take medicne for a cold. If they can convince each other not to breed it'll some some problems except that along the line someone's going to think the cause is romantic and start things back up.

Silly idea. Life evolves, and humans are the pinnacle. We've reached a point were humans > nature. We keep alive the weak with Medical care, We value people past there strength, and we love.

But I do agree, we need to look after the enviroment, other animals may not be as advanced, but they still deserve life. Also it's self benifical to keep nature. Oxygen doesn't just grow from trees... oh wait.

Our Desire to save human life is not going to trump that of our desire to save the enviorment, and most people's lives can be prolonged by 10 to sometimes 40 years with modern medicine. This VHEM group clearly wants the human population to go straight down, not to stagger.

Perhaps if they raised they're childeren to Take control of various nations and create large scale nuclear wars they could do a number to the worlds population; like a combination between the Illuminati and The alien predators.
