Why do some have it... dun dun dunn, others don't.
Don't say it's for Admins/Mods, I've seen about five regular users with the golden aura eg. Life.

Anyone with moderator privileges on the site has an golden aura. This includes BBS, Review and Audio mods. I'm not sure if Icon mods have the gold aura or not.
And no, we don't choose it, its given to us by a higher power, we just have to make the best of the gifts given to us.

Icon moderators have normal user auras. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think icon mods have ban immunity either.

I was a BBS mod, a review mod and an icon mod on this site. I made a request to relinquish my BBS mod position about a year and a half ago and I lost my review mod status for inactivity.
