That's stupid. Just fucking let her wear the damn ring. Why would schools bother banning jewelry anyway?

Thats pretty old news, but its pretty silly that she feels she needs a ring to preserve her purity. Wonder how many guys actually bother to talk to her.

What a poor topic to make an article out of, the school is obviously just wanting public attention. They probably gave her the ring back under a table.

With or without the ring she's probably not going to have sex anyway, so it really isn't that big of a deal.
Yay, more jokes!

Surely she cherishes it as a symbol?
Anyway, the virginity ring is a horrible thing that encourages depraved behaviour in the school yard. IT HAD TO BE STOPPED!

I'm fed up with devout religious people pushing their fucking beliefs on other people. "..Allowed to stop Christians PUBLICLY EXPRESSING AND PRACTICING their faith."
Good.

Okay okay guys, the topic title is misleading, you can stop saying it now, everyone before you already did.
I totally agree with the court.
Say I said that I worshipped the devil, it was my religion - if she won her case then I should be able to cover myself in any sort of satanic symbols because it's part of my religion!!!
You could say that for so many things it is my 'religion'!
I went to a Catholic school so we were allowed to wear religious symbols but at any school where religion is not an integrated part of the curriculum, Christianity should not be treated as special.

Supposedly it symbolized her faith and they dont want that in public schools. Why? I have no fucking clue but they really need to lighten up on that.

Actually, I think, just for the sake of being a rebel, she should continue wearing it. Ya know, to make a stand, or something.

People do that so we know they aren't making the article up.

I see no problem with that whatsoever.
I went to a Catholic school so we were allowed to wear religious symbols but at any school where religion is not an integrated part of the curriculum, Christianity should not be treated as special.
Well, christianity isn't the only religion concerned. The ring isn't allowed not on church/state conflict grounds, but rather on dress code grounds. The fact that the jewelry is religiously charged is a problem because the banning of certain articles by public schools can stifle religious custom, like muslims not being allowed to wear head scarves, or jews not being allowed to sport long curls or yarmulkes due to school dress regulation.
I think people should be able to wear religious articles wherever they want, including school. Of course, what I DON'T want are administrative members of public institutions encouraging/participating in anything religious through their faculties.

I find needing an item to express yourself or your beliefs to be rather pointless, if you have enough faith in what your own belief is then why does an item mean so much you need it to express yourself?
Unless your looking to attract a rapist or something with a blatant "im a virgin" sign be whatever it is.
