So yeah, my local Barnes & Noble's bookstore held a party to celebrate the last book, with games, rafles, etc, and the first book was sold at midnight. There were a few hundred people there, it was fucking crazy. Alot of little kids were dressed up, and one guy from my old school was dressed up as a hot dog. There were a few local news stations, too.

I stayed in line for about an hour, but it was worth it. There were two sets of people there, those who pre-ordered, and those who didn't. If you didn't pre-order you had to wait untill those that did bought their books. I saw some poeple who would need to stay until like three in the morning.

I just got home and have looked briefly at the book. I'm not going to be a dick and confirm all the spoilers floating around, but I will say that those pics of the epilogue were legitimate.

On a side note, at these things you learn that alot of people you know are Harry Potter fans. I saw people I never would have guessed.

I got up to the second book and gave up there. I might look into it again, I remember it a pain to read though.

A worl of magic and mystery and britishness and a fanbase that takes things way too far. Like Star Trek, except the HP fans are all really open about it.

Hardcore HP fans are Britfags. One step away from Weaboos.

Earlier I went to the store and picked up the book. 10 minutes later, I finished so I put it down on the shelf and walked home.

I didn't get the book or show any interest what so ever.

But I did watch Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix at the movies last night. Bit of a crappy movie but it was better than the last.

I thought the movie was one of the worst. There was some stuff left out that they could've and should've put in there. I understand it was the longest book, but it was (apparently) the shortest movie.

I had a copy ordered online BEFORE it came out in shops, so I got mine when the postman delivered it this morning.

I waited in line as well.

Except I was at Wal-Mart.

You may be laughing, but I got two for the price of one.

And a red Gryffindor wristband. As if I don't have enough wristbands already.
