Since the userpages have the handy new "news" sections, we're thinking that ALL stories should be posted there. I was also thinking that any I WILL RATE _____ and "advice" topics should also be now prohibited in General and the creators of such topics advised to post them in their userpage, with a link in the sig if they wish.

What does the populace think? Any other ideas for "userpage only" threads?

I just think that one of these days some popular user is going to create their own 'mini'-forum where some user asks them to make a 'blog' about a topic, and then everyone discusses it to impress the popular user.

Make a thread about your story and post the first chapter here. If they like it they can comment on your blog or the thread. Thread will be used for updates on the story.

But that's the thing. There's often very little actual discussion in the aforementioned threads. It's just a quick comment, or a diss, or some praise. The authour comments back (sometimes), and that's that. Userpages do exactly this. And they still allow for interaction.

RATE ______ and "advice" threads are generally disallowed and dodgy, respectively. Story threads are still up in the air.

I think that would severely reduce the number of people that would potentially view stories. I don't care about rating threads, they can go there, but story threads need more visibility so the author has a better chance of getting feedback.
