Why does America hate the world?

We've had The Foreigners make their case for their "irrational, jealous hatred" of "The Greatest Nation on Earth" so, just to balance it out, can some of the american users tell us why exacvtly you believe in the superiority on every level your nation has, and why they represent all that is good and pure?

I wouldnt say we are superior on every level, or that we are the absolute best. Were just better than canada, mexico, most of europe, all of africa, all of south america, most of asia, and australia. Think about it, if theyre better than us, why do we have all the money and the cool toys? America invents all the toys the world wants to play with (like the PC, for instance). We also invented the light bulb, the airplane, and the nuclear power plant. Man had wanted to fly since the beginning of time, but out of all mankind, only the US found a way to do it.

FUNKbrs makes some good points...we're not superior to everyone...and frankly...I think every culture has some sort of merit, but yes, it should be acknowledged that America has created many of the tools that keep the world running (the very tools FUNKbrs mentioned). But I think it shows much better character to be benevolent rather than arrogant based on these things. I would also point out that many countrys exhibit the same arrogance, prejudice, and often self-preferential outlook that Americans are blasted so much for holding.

As opposed to the telephone and the television (Scottish), which are the "toys" that are most appreciated within American society and, in fact, used (and abused) by culture at large.

As for the lightbulb, it was Joseph Swan that first invented and displayed it publicly, and obtained a patent a full year ahead (1878) of Edison - FOR THE SAME BULB!!! Swan sued, and Edison had to make him a partner. Strike one up for us Brits!!!

Using that logic nobody has really invented anything since fire, because all inventions are based fire's idea of controling nature to suit our environment. When I say invented, I mean what nationality did the engineering to put the finished product together?

U.S. is a great country, but not the best at all. Inventions have nothing to do with the present greatness of a country, so we'll leave that out.
Canada is better than the U.S. because:

- Less violence
- Better healthcare
- About same level of life
- Less pollution
- More ressources
- We invented hockey ( j/k )
- Less crime
- Far from Mexico
- Nice variation of climates

The only part where you guys have us beat is your money, which is not even distributed fairly, so I don't know what you're bragging about.

I'm just saying that Nukes make tanks and others an emptry threat because a desperate country would use them and there's nothing the whole country could do even if every man there was a solder.
I think the military education isn't all that bad, teaching kids discipline, and making them serve one year or two in the army, that's always good, and the army helps out in some situations of crisis, but obviously, the U.S. army is ridiculously large and will only cause the rest of the world to try and match in a never ending vivious circle of stupidity while everyone else must deprive themselves of the ressources necessariy to build an army that only partially protect your country.
But of course, you can bully everyone else, which is obviously what you feel is right.

Actually, that infiltration hurts us a lot and we are pissed that the people go to the U.S. (where the educational system is much more expensive) after getting and education here at the expense of the governement.
I'm not judging every american, you're making that assumption because like so many people, you generalize all the time. I wouldn't be pissed at someone who said Canada sucks, and I wouldn't take it personnaly.

Actually America has one of the worst sustainability rates in the world, like Japan who get almost all their agricultural products through the trade of electronics, the states get most of their lumber, oil, and agricultural products from other countries, in truth, they are an ultra-reliant country

It is the most powerful nation as the last remaining superpower, but I don't believe that we have some inherent superiority. The reason I defend it is because many ill-informed and easily swayed people are told to blame it for any sort of problem and that this is the popular thing to do, so they attack America with the same tired old evidence, no matter how disproven. I gues it makes some of them feel big, as if they're being all "counter-cultural" and "fighting the establishemnt". In reality, they're just more mindless faces in the crowd that uses America as a scapegoat.
