New way to report Redesign Bugs!

So far we've gotten a lot of great feedback from everyone. So much, in fact, that it's hard to keep track of it all.

I'm currently listed as the contact for two major things: WEBCAMS and BUG REPORTING.

First, a note about webcams: Only true webcams will be accepted for inclusion into the redesigned cam section. It was not intended to be the elite image gallery it has become. We're going to try hard to keep our cam refreshing regularly and hope that everyone else will too. Also, it'll be a while before these are updated.

Secondly -- and most importantly -- the bug reports:

After spending three hours going through messages in my PM inbox, we're going to try something different for reporting bugs: addressing them on my User Page instead. Got a bug? Read through the list below, and post new bugs in the comments section of my User Page post, not here!

Besides providing a public log of bugs we've already heard about, I'll be able to respond to individual concerns where everybody can see the explanation. (We thought about asking everyone to post bugs in a forum thread, but they tend to get spammed, spaced out more, and it's harder to keep track of individual complaints.) Cool?

Here's the list of bugs of which we are currently aware, anything NOT ON THIS LIST can be submitted as a comment to Bob's Bug-Fixin' user page post. Thanks for your help!

** TIER ONE BUGS **

- First, If the new in-page viewing is giving you trouble, please use the pop-up link still provided right underneath the main link.

- Banned users currently see a white page in the Forums instead of a true error message.

- The "Forgot Password" link *is* broken for now, we know. :/

- The links to view your Flash and Audio reviews do not currently work, no matter where you find them. Whether on your Userpage or in your Account Options, these do not work. We'll deactivate the links soon, and hopefully re-implement this feature shortly after Comicon.

- Audio Portal doesn't have page navigation for genre listings, and the "view all" submission buttons are dead.

- While toggling all PMs, and unchecking a few, all of them will still be deleted.

- Some people are having trouble sending PMs. In particular, users who never checked the original "Accept Terms and Conditions" box on the old site.

- People are not giving their reviews any stars before they submit, resulting in a score of 0. We'll be coming up with a better way of doing this after we've gotten some sleep.

- For now, only the overall list of rankings is available, none of the other stats. Sorry about this. :/

** TIER TWO BUGS **

- When searching a user's BBS Posts, the link to the thread does not take you to the exact page on which the post was made.

- Visited links don't get special treatment in the Portal.

- Wording in the Grounds Gold deposit message is slightly incorrect regarding the number of points it'll take to get to the next level.

- If you visit the Forums with the old style URLs, the navigation won't work. Plus, sometimes the arrow buttons are a little squished at the bottom.

** TIER THREE BUGS **

- "Crazy Browser" and a few other nut-job-browsers are having issues. If you don't like the bugs they produce, try one of these for now: Firefox, Safari, Opera, IE7, or IE6 please.

- Unicode characters (for example: %u2019 and %u2022) aren't working. I wouldn't hold your breath on this one. We currently handle characters like apostrophes and quotes copied over from Microsoft Word, but there are no plans to deal with crazy characters *too* soon.

- There are still a few FAQ quirks, like dead or redundant links. Simple to fix, but oh-so-minor.

- Old pages aren't being styled. If you've saved old links somewhere that you can't surf to from the new site, chances are high that they might not be styled properly.

- The iconhelpers page is temporarily broken, despite painstaking efforts to make it available upon launch. Some things were not meant to be, and we'll be fixing this minor page somewhere down the line.

Above all, please remember that the most important part of the site is watching movies and playing games, so if all else fails use the pop-up link!

When i try to play a movie, it says i don't have Flash Installed, but i do, i downloaded it 4 times and nothing, but it worked for me yesterday... has this bug been discussed?

Very useful bob. I've managed to get around fine so far, and I see you've addressed the "review dead link" issue so that's cool. Hopefully I won't have to report anything but I'll get in touch with your user page if I need to.

No way to tell your whistle points. As far as all Newgrounders with garbage whistles(like me) are concerned, we have no way to tell how screwed our whistle is.
