As a strong supporter for gay marraige, I am shocked and appaled at the insults done to those in incestual relationships and thier inability to publicly commit thier love in a binding relationship.
I'm angered that our government feels that it can restrict two grown adults from entering into a loving marraige with each other.
The government should have no right to restrict a marraige between a brother and sister, or mom and son, or father and daughter or brother and brother.
If there two loving adults, they should marry.

This is so true. Genes play no part in love, so the governments concerns about genes have no place in interfering with a loving relationship between brother and sister.
Plus, just think, you'd have half the amount of in-laws, every man's dream.

Yet we allow people that carry genetic diseases and mutations to breed.
So why not allow incest, since the chance for mutation is actually pretty low.

Depends on the dominance of that genetic disease. A person may carry it and show no symptoms. If they breed with someone who doesn't have this genetic disorder, then the child will also bear no symptoms and have a 50/50 chance of bearing that recessive allele. If you breed incestuously, however, then there is a greater chance of that recessive disorder to become dominant since both people have a similar gene pool.
It could happen by chance in a non-incest relationship, but it is very likely to occur if an incestuous couple decide to have a child. (if that family happens to have a genetic disorder)

Even if it wasn't a head on collison to birth defects, it will still be outlawed as long as our government is full of the usual people. You know, people who have actually graduated high school?

And if the don't....
So what, are you suggesting that we should test everybody's blood to find out what diseases, if any they carry, and then tell them that they can't reproduce.
What, are you some kind of sick monster.

The Government have no right to ban gay marriage. There is no good reason for it. Stopping gay people getting married isn't suddenly going to make them become straight. Legal there is no difference between gay nor straight couples, its only a religious thing.

The problem with incest is that the babies generally suffer from a genetic defect.

even if you dont think its morally wrong...if incest was legal there would be a huge amount of inbreeding and after a while a huge percentage of the population would become retarded and we'd have a hard time keeping our society functioning.
on a side note (just putting this out there) this is the same reason its impossible for the world to have been started with just adam and eve. with all the inbreeding required to start a decent sized population, the entire race would become retarded and die out after a few decades or so (if they miraculously lasted that long.....but im not trying to start a religious debate here or anything

Heh. Actually, no. Its pretty high if family members have children together. The reason is that the family has relatively the same genes, and when you mix, it comes out all fucked up.
