What causes the upload error on NG?

Ya know when you upload one of your songs onto NG and when its done uploading you check it and it doesnt work and you get all pissed. Its happened to me plenty of time. Am I doing something wrong or is it just the website?

Probably just a site error, but I have a similar problem uploading songs because no matter how many times I convert a song to the correct file format, NG won't take it.

I have this problem occasionally too and I've been looking into it a lot with Tom. I gave him the results of my findings but nothing's come of it yet. He might look into it more in the AP redesign. It's nothing to do with the file, I've submitted the same 'blank' track with two different accounts and sometimes one works and the other doesn't. Bizarly it's something to do with the ID3 info attached to the file. That is, the track title and author etc. If you're going to resubmit a track, try giving it a different name.

btw this has been discussed a lot of times before, do a search to check a similar thread hasn't already been started before you post. Here's one I started earlier.

I've heard that if you are listening to the file as you are uploading...that could cause it. I don't listen to mine as it is uploading, and have not had the problem yet.

I had that problem on my old account when I used FL3. I dunno if that had something to do with it. about a year back i'd say.

The best thing you can do is just to upload again.

could be that the servers are getting flooded even more. it takes 10 minutes for my browser to upload a song. they know that they need new (better) servers. they prolly dont have the funding or time to set them up. they would have to spend a buttload of time taking all the songs and putting them onto the next server and make sure the server works and all. unfortunately bringing either the audio portal or newgrounds all together down. :D me smart like that.

Well if he wanted to shit up the page with "-insert song- (FIXED!!!!)" submissions.

It's sortof a good thing though cause the songs you need to download to listen to strangely happen to get a lot more downloads :D

Currently the only known way that I found out how to submit a song that newgrounds will not accept because of the IP adress glitch is to upload your song onto a uploading site such as www.megaupload.com and then have a friend dl it and submit it on his own computer after you tell him what you want as the Title, Comments, and Genre.
