I just read some article by some guy named David Duke who talked about how 300 was used as propaganda to help gain support from Americans and European countries to support the war in Iraq. One of his main complaints was that the Iranians were portrayed as Africans.
My question is, were the Iranians really that bad?

Yeah that was a big deal about... 3 months ago. The Iranians got pissed off because they thought we were insulting their history and portraying them as barbarians in order to justify a modern western war against them.
They demanded we apologize etc... meanwhile their official slogan as a nation is "Death to America" and they expect us to not make a movie about them...

Ok well first of all, they weren't "Iranians" back then necessarily. They were Persians. The Persian Empire was huge, and only had one part of its empire in modern-day Iran. But back then they did conscript blacks into their armies, so its historically accurate that some of them were black in the movie.
My question is, were the Iranians really that bad?
Well yeah, but then again so was everyone else...

I am half Iranian, and I didn't give a shit about the movie, other than how much ass it kicked.
That's probably because I'm not Islamic though, unlike 95% of the population over there.
So they'll always get in a hissy whenever anything happens, and start burning flags and shit, instead of just chilling the fuck out.
