Why is that is some cases, there are anime shows that are fairly short, these anime are about 20+ episodes long and they usually produce a good ending to it, a surprising good ending!

But why is it that to the long running anime, why do I feel it's getting repeated way to often, yes there are some episodes that are good in the long running ones, but I can feel some episodes are similar to the other episodes, just the plot is slightly different.

But to the short animes, they have a certain plot that doesn't repeat the other episodes (which is great by the way...)

Is it because they are losing ideas due to the fact that long runnng series have to produce more ideas to continue? Or is it that they are just making up not really thought up ideas just to continue?

I would think that, because some long running series have lost it's charm after it has reached 30+ episodes or more, probably due to the lost of originality from the older episodes.

Weird that, that in the early episodes, you always find them great, but when you continue to watch each episode, you'll soon find that it's not the best as you seemed.

Well, this is just what I'm thinking about right now, please, if you have some input about it, please go right ahead and share your ideas about this, It would be nice if you do so.

Thank you.

I tend to find that for an anime to have a good ending it has to have 26 episodes or less.

And it seems most of the time, for an anime to be good it has to follow that same formula.

Length does not bother me, consistent quality is essential in long series, though.

Nothing worse than something that's good for a season, then runs another three or more and becomes absolute shite.

The key to a series is the quality of the first three episodes, if you can't find anything appealing (be it plot, characters, pacing, etc.) at all after the first three episodes, chances are the series is awful and not worth wasting your time on.

Naruto can only fight so many ninjas...

But Luffy can't fight enough pirates!

you're completely right about all that. my guess is that long-running series gained massive popularity when it first came out. people like that series so much that the producers want to keep on and see where they go. this often ends disastrously because the plot writers run out of ideas and tend to use previous ideas that are slightly altered which they think are new. that's when a series begins to lose its popularity and eventually gets cancelled because they never condidered how to end it. a common example: inuyasha.
