Vista seems kinda pointless, and any leaps it has made have already been done. I noticed it with IE7, it was just a blatant copy of Firefox and other browers.

Plus, it's new - it could have bugs, and there isn't much software up to date.

I still had Win98 this time last year, and that was fine. It works fine for the schools, as well.

I have Vista and I like it.
The only problem I find with it is compatibility. Like lack of drivers and stuff...

Vista is nothing but a simple redrawn version of XP.
Nothing new that comes with it is handy and it is a resource hog.
Vista = utter failure

That's really odd, because I'm using Vista currently and everything is fine with me, I'm able to download anything without any hassle and I have a lot of freedom from it.

Nothing in the link states Microsoft admitting Vista is a failure, in fact all it does is rant on about how Microsoft is taking away our digital freedom with Vista.

So from what I'm hearing, switching back to XP basically IS upgrading due to the shitty-ness of Vista.

personally i couldnt give a shit about some millionaires losing out on money, they have enough as it is. Copyrights are old and outdated and need to be replaced with something modern but NOT forced upon everyone who want to use certain programs etc. this licensing crap is a load of bother and microsoft case wouldnt stand in a court of law none of cases would as pirating movies, games and music is a good thing. These people say to see certain images and hear certain sounds i have to pay?! The corporations have lost their unjustified grip on the people and they wont get it back.

Yep, I had Vista and switched back to XP. Everything seems so fast now, makes you realise how much CPU Vista really takes up..

Vista works great it has easy to user features and the newly drawn GUI is really nice on the eyes, you people need new computers... unless your computer ranks a 4.5 to 4.9 out of 5 in Vista don't even fucking try because it's not the OS it's your welfare machine.

Wait, my Vista is fast, the problem with it is its low Video Memory, which can be fixed with a $200 512 mb one.

First of all Microsoft does not do internal bug testing. I will make sure the Operating System can load on its own. They then sell the new OS. The public buys ths software and starts reporting all the bugs in the software. These are then sent ti Microsoft who over time takes the same code used on that OS and works out all the reported bugs. This "new" OS is then put on shelves so everyone who bought the old "new" OS has to buy the "new" OS. Windows XP is the debugged version of Windows ME. We can assume that Vista is the first version of the next OS.

The major problem is that Vista is monitoring what users are doing. It forces you to install and pay fore software you don't want. It decides what software on your machine is "spyware" and removes it if it wants to. It won't let you copy or back up certain software or even share it. It is another example of big rich companies trying to force their will into what your hardware. It wasn't made to make users happy and do what you want, it was made to make big businesses happy.
