But now I'm fixated to the idea that it's based on an alien invasion. Just because I saw the military in the trailer. I know the army would be there with something else that big, but still, it's usually aliens that the government try to hide up.

What else could do mass destruction like that? Aliens or the apocalypse and the apocalypse needs to be brought up by something.

from what punisher posted it looks like the monster is bipedal in some way. so its probably some type of giant lizard.

A.) Its a giant sea creature. Like a whale mixed with a head louse. In the trailer it is using its arms to push itself behind the building. It has sort of a turtle face.

B.) Slusho uses a secret sea ingredient that created the monsters.

C.) Drinking Slusho turns you into one of the monsters. Thats why the woman after the "it's killing her" scene is mutating behind the tarp

D.) butts

I read up on it and he was inspired by japanese kids' toys like Godzilla but wanted something far more intense and insane for the movie. Its a monster movie, I just don't know the details.

Well this is just messing my skull......

Although i'm pretty sure that its got something to do with a mutated sea creature thing.... I mean the Slusho site has a link asking for new employees in the west and on that page it says that it's special ingredient is taken straight from the sea. And on the shluo history...it states that the creator was called the littlest wale of something and there are numerous things about wales on that site as well. And apparently the sound of the creature is very close to a wales moan underwater.

But the thing that gets me is...in the newest trailer, there's that (i'm guessing lady) inside that tent thing with those to monster looking things around her. But it also looks kinda like Haz-matt suites too..... But the in the trailer there's a weird creature sound playing when the camera turns tword the tent, then it cuts to black...so it could be mini monster things...So i don't quite know what to make of that.... But ya, looks good all, i can say is i hope it's not some Godzilla or Zilla remake...that would blow.

I read something that said that it IS dudes in Haz-matt suites and the chicks stomach explodes or something.... I also heard a theory that the monster is attracted to the Slusho product...once again linking them. So could this Slusho be poisonous or something...it's the only real conclusion that i can come up with for a chicks stomach exploding....

Oh and the trade mark for Slusho is "you cant drink just six" Apparently somebody did an anagram of this phrase and it came out to mean something about toxins...like a code the government would use to talk about toxic spills or something....

I know this is one big marketing ploy...but damn is it ever working......bastards.....

A quote a found from the trailer. Also, I noticed that one of the soldier's faces were censored ( those blurry blocks ) and it wasn't the quality of the trailer. It was actually censored.

And I doubt it was a codename. They spent too much money advertising Cloverfield. I saw posters for it at the theater.

It was originally a codename but now they've actually used it for the title.

But really...what dose the name 'Cloverfield' have to do with any theories of this movies... i mean even if it WAS a code name...it still sortta has to have something to do with the plot...or at least it should...

Pretty convincing evidence it's Cthulhu:

The producer, J. J. Abrams, denied the blogspot site and the other site Ethanhaaswasright.com were connected to the movie. He's also the producer for Lost, so he would obviously try to keep it hush-hush. Also, he produced a failed Fox show, The Class earlier this year. There was a character in it called, and get this, ETHAN HAAS!

Also, the puzzle site makes a reference to Abdul Alhazred, who in the Lovecraft books, was the person who wrote the Necronomicon, the book that talked about Cthulhu.

I've been home sick all day, so I had plenty of time to read up on EVERYTHING about this.

I'd say this is pretty convincing stuff. Anyone have anything to add/argue?

I have found a few new cloverfield posters on google. I found three earlier and now I've lost the third one but hey! I got us two of them, at least. I'll keep an eye out for the third poster.

I hadn't seen them before so maybe you lot havn't either.

I also found another site exactly like slusho and I believe it to be related to cloverfield. I'll try to find this site again and I'll link you guys to it.

Army guys in hazmats points to something contagious, possibly a parasite or sporing effect. In the second trailer, we see what could have been a girl ballooning and about to pop, and a reference to this is seen on Slusho.jp's 'Happy talk" where a character says they are so full of Slusho they are about to burst, or something along those lines.

The film is also believed to be based on a classical japanese moster called 'Kappa'. If this is true, that would both sites having a japanese domain name.

If anyone can dig up some dirt on what a 'Kappa' is or what one may look like, please tell us here.
