Mac or Windows?

I've been pondering this thought for a while now. My dad offered to buy me a Macintosh desktop computer because I got into the #1 private boarding school in Canada. He offered me a Mac, or to just stick with Windows and he would get me something else.
I heard all these great stories about the Mac, but I haven't fully explored it yet. I am a bit disappointed with the one-click mouse, but there are pros to cons - after all, Mac is unable to catch a virus or trojan, from what I've heard.
So I ask the NGBBS community: should I get a Mac, or stick with Windows and get something else sweet?

Get the Mac, sell it and use the money to upgrade to PC.

Macs are really good if you get used to them but to be honest I would just stick to windows. I mean you're already used to it, its not like macs blow windows away anyway.

Bullshit. No seriously, stick with Windows from my experiences Windows runs faster, and is just better then Macs.. Though I've only used one Mac before.

Get a mac. Once you fully explore it you find out what you've been missing while using windows. And it's true theres only a couple viruses for Mac. I think somewhere between 2 and 5.

Windows. MACS are slower and are a little behind in tech. Also, you'd have to buy all these new copys of games for a MAC and it could be hundreds of $$.

Ugh. Get a Windows machine.
Unless you have some REAL reason to use a Mac (Digital design / CGI work / being a closet homosexual), you've no real reason to get it. It's like paying extra money for a "designer" computer with a fancy case and slick looking hardware -- and it doesn't perform as well.
I'm experienced on both machines, and working with a Mac is just a bother. They try so hard to be different in how they do things that they sometimes fuck up. Example: We have a very expensive dual core macbook. The keyboard, since they HAD to make it perfectly rectangular in shape to be stylish, sucks ass in many situations. Thank god it dual boots in to Windows.
Oh, and even in graphic work - Any alleged difference in performance between the two macines is negligible.
Totally.

What games? Haha. I'd stick with Windows. I own both Windows and Mac.

Well, thanks for you're opinion anyhow. Anybody else? I'm still looking for some people with a preference of one over the other. RageVI has been the most helpful, so far.

Get Windows and something extra. I've used Macs and for the average computer user, they are if anything, more of a hassle than windows.

It's not that it is unable, it is that no one cares to write malicious code for one. They are only 10% of the market anyway, who wants to mess up 10% when the rest is 90% Windows?
I would go with a Mac though. That is if you can live with one. I play many games, I could never live with one. I have no money to buy one, PC's are cheap/good performance nowadays.
It will probably take a little getting used to.

Linux
Impossible to get a virus
Beryl fucking kicks ass
Comes with Azureus so no need to worry over which torrenting program to get
Really fun games built in
Comes with Gimp which is essentially the free photoshop
Comes with several CD / DVD ripping programs
Password protected folders that instead of needing the password to open them you need it to reveal whatever hidden contents it contains. In other words your porn folder can be disguised as school work.

I rather use PCs. Upgrading is very easy. A world of programs and customizing. They can last for decade.
Macs are basically disposable computers.
I work with computers all day, I would know. I build computers all day, and do a lot of software work too. (Programing)
But really, PCs are basically more flexible.

Mac: Hi im a Mac
PC: And im a PC
Mac: Why do you look the same as me??
PC: Because IM WINDOWS VISTA!!!!!!111
Macs run slower but have a bunch of little neat features. Macs are better for multimedia than PCs, but PCs have all the games soooo...PC is better.
