Well, I didn't trace my Optimus Prime, I just got an image of him and started drawing each part of him with the picture next to me.

A good artist takes a reference picture and his brain automatically shapes the thing in 3d so you can draw the character in all the posses that you want. Any tracing is just being a faggot and shows that the person can't draw shit except for his style.
