I Am Annoyed at Religion

Or more specifically, I am annoyed at the SRPHF. You may know them; you may be a member of them. They are the Society of Religious People who Hate Fun.

You may have heard of them; the religious people who think that Pokemon and Dungeons and Dragons are evil because they aren't stated to be created by God.

The people who keep their kids inside on Halloween and celebrate Christoween or Jesusoween or whatever.

The people who attempted to ban Harry Potter because it features wizards, and as we all know, if he's this popular and not Christian, he must be Satanic.

So tell me - are all Christians members of the Society of Religious People who Hate Fun, or have I only met ones that are?

Sadly there are a great deal of bible-humpers out there who give *normal* religious folks a very bad name. Many of the ones I've met are quite open-minded...except this one old lady who has a giant cross on her lawn that she plugs in nightly. The Elderly aside, you've just gotten a bad wind of the Fanatics. The only thing you really can do that's non-violent would be to petition against them or to simply ignore them. A Fire can't grow if there's nothing for it to feed on after all. ;)

I know ignoring a swarm of gnats is difficult, but it's either move away from them, ignore them, or prove to them that they're idiots\bigots (preferably in someway involving their own Holy Book as if they are as extreme as you describe, then that may be the *only* book they'd pay attention to)

I don't think I can adequately assist you with your question on rich Christians, however you could goto a priest \ minister and ask him about Charity. Him or your local poor-house, as one may have a different PoV on the concept than the other.

They are terribly annoying, but usually it's pretty easy to laugh at them, too. Honestly, living your entire life based only on rules written out in a book of fiction is pretty stupid. I'm not saying that all Christians are that way, but for really fundamentalist ones who honestly don't have any logic about their religion, the best way to ignore it is to just laugh at their total lack of logical thought.

Oh, and topic poster, no, most Christians are NOT like that. I wasn't when I was on; you'll find that most Harry Potter fans in the U.S. are Christians anyways; since most of the U.S. is Christian!

So yeah, it's just a fringe group thing, not a mainstream thing.

I'm religious man. I cry when we have the ceremonial thing at church for when they crucified Jesus. But I swear, I cuss so much man, not even funny. By this post, I bet I won't cuss that much, but I do cuss quite a bit.

Also, Pokemon is bad. It teaches kids they can beat their pets and worship Satan because they fighting machines. The theme song, supposedly, when they do the 'Pokemon Rap' says 'I love Satan' backwards when they say 'Gotta Catch em all' coincidence, I think not. Damn Satan worshipers XD

Are you serious? It doesn't teach kids they can beat their pets; only obtuse kids who don't realize it's just a TV show would beat their pets because of it. In Pokémon the creatures actually like to fight; and they never die from it. That's pretty unrealistic; it's not like it's a show about dogfishting or something. And when you play something backwards you can say it says a lot of things too; and people will believe it because they'll look for the details they've been told and interpret it as such. Pokémon does not equal Satan worship.

And if you're kidding, that's pretty funny. :)

But the CAMA mega Church I used to go to.... most people drove nice shiny Mercedeses, and SUVS, when I was a Mormon. They were all BMWs and Mercedeses, and most of my fellow youth peers, were extremely rich children who's parents were Oil Excutives in Calgary. Like hell if each member of the church just gave one dollar, that would go a LONG way to help make the world peacefull and less painful....... Which is what Jesus tried to do... if he existed. It teaches the importance of friendships and teamwork! It does not teach you to "beat your pets!" Humans never beat the Pokemon, and when Pokemon beat on one another it is a friendly competition to determine which is stronger!
