Perhaps a sample of the song so the singers know what they're getting into?If you dont like the way i run things than perhaps you should not audition. This is they way i do it, and have always done it.
Whats the point of auditioning if you don't know what your auditioning for.
well that may well be all fine and dandy for you, but what about the people who are singing it, haven't you thought that they may just want to know what theyre singing to develop a good audition??? You didn't think of that?
Auditioning someone for anything is about giving that person something to audition with so they can prepare, even if they only have 3 minutes, it's still prep time, you're expecting people to sing something without any Key, tempo, melody and you want them to sing in a 'Pop' style. wtf is a 'pop' style when it's at home? there are literally 1000's of singers who can sing in a whole multitude of styles, maybe the style your looking for may not be right and you drop a great vocalist cos you want a pop voice. my fucking arse.
Producers, good ones, that is don't have a set way of working, they are flexible, adaptable, always willing to get the best out of a performer that they physically can by work with the performer not against em. Respect your potential vocalist's a bit more instead of some fucking side puppets as they are the ones who'll make your song regardless of your instrumentation.
