If the reports are actually correct and they find he did, in fact, kill his wife and his SON (a defenseless kid, mind you), then the fucking guy is evil to the core. Killers are not good people, but the ones who kill KIDS? Their OWN kids? Come on... don't defend people that do this.
If, of course, they find some other enario entirely and this is all some sort of setup, then by all means the guy was not evil.

No. lolomfgisuck seemed to be amazed that the NG General Forum, which is made of of primarily minors, was more interested in the death of a professional wrestler than the recent deaths of many older politicians and military figures. I pointed out to him the age demographic of the General forum. pepeatumi misunderstood and thought I was referring to the wrestling fanbase around the world as being made up of minors. I disabused him of this notion. All of that should be abundantly clear, so I'll just go on blaming the piss poor educational systems for the lack of reading comprehension that goes on here.

I wouldn't go so far as to say evil. I don't know much about the man, but if he felt overwhelmed in his role as family caretaker, it's a possibility that he saw his actions as an only way out. In his mind, if he couldn't fix them, he should put them down and then kill himself because he's failed in his role as protector. It happens a lot more than people know about.
Rational thinking is not the forte of the troubled soul.

He needs no pity, he snapped. Probably roid rage. How do you honestly honor a man after that?

Seconded. Despite him being a "heroic figure" (I personally wouldn't know, I never got into wrestling), the man must have been somewhat unstable to commit such an atrocity. A person can be very different in and out of the spotlight. I always saw wrestling as a kind of sitcom, people adapt and like certain characters, and the Heroic figure people saw on screen may not have been the same in reality.
But hey, I don't follow wrestling so therefore my opinion is null and void on the matter.

Is that sarcasm I detect?
Listen, we wrestling fans get flak for enjoying this. And even if you guys find it stupid, we find it entertaining. We know you guys roll your eyes whenever you see something on Professional Wrestling, and that you immediately judge whoever gets into watching it.
But don't think that we are like you. Your opinion is not null and void. You are like most other members - you are giving your opinion on a matter even though you don't fully understand it. If we waited for everyone to understand everything about a topic before they posted in it, then NG would be dead.
But don't put us in your same category.

I personally do not believe in good and evil. This a great example. A man who was described as a good person by many people, commited an evil act. Good people can do evil things. It isn't possible to sort things into a group of good and others into a group of evil. Human nature isn't binary.
Also for the peop,e who believe it was roid rage, the following was coppied off of WWE.com
1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.
2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation). Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.
3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.
4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.
5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.
I am a new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever. I am legend.

Wow I never actually expected a reply to that... random. And as for sarcasm, I honestly wasn't being sarcastic. I said it because I generally don't have a clue about most aspects of wrestling, so I'm pretty much contributing to the thread blindly with only the current affairs to formulate my opinion on. I was intentionally trying to avoid bashing any wrestling fans because everyone has a right to enjoy any form of entertainment that they want. Now can we kindly return to the topic at hand instead of nitpicking at ambiguities in a user's post?

Yes. Can we please get on with the topic without any more "wrestling sucks" posts? And I applaud this sentence of yours:
"...everyone has a right to enjoy any form of entertainment that they want. "
...which is something that people here tend to forget when they say that anime/wrestling/rap/rock/this band/that band/etc. sucks.
Now...back to the topic on hand.

I just found out about that. Police say he was on steroids and he got angry so he commited a double-murder suicide. May he and his families soul RIP.

Did I EVER at one point say wrestling sucks? -_- I'm very, VERY sorry if this thread has had a share of wrestling haters, but take it up with them, not someone who is trying to make (what I hope was) a decent contribution. Thanky.

If it's murder-suicide, I'm not sure if I should feel bad for him for this, his family I will but not him. I'll leave it at that.

The
offical statment shows that there were no steriods in the house or his system, that evidence shows deliboration rather than rage and that the cause of death was not beatings. I don;'t know more details than that but don't reduce him to a roid head.

Knowing as much as we do right now, we can defend him just as much as you can condemn him. Without knowing the circumstances behind the situation, we know nothing. You don't know whether his actions were justifiable or not.

It's fucked up what he did, I'll admit that. But still, this is a sad state of affairs.
I'm gonna go back to my room and be awesome.
