Now that Gulf War II is over, the troops are coming home, what is America's next target going to be? What other country has a leader who has been as demonized by the media as Saddam Hussein?

Bush has to win another election next year, and as Steven Colbert of the Daily Show said: "There's a lot of hot, sandy countries left to invade."

Who do you think is next?

i'd say we look out for Bush's "Axis of Evil". with one gone and two to go we should look out for Iran and North Korea. i highly doubt any of those countries will be attacked in the forseeable future but there will be a lot of harsh words.

I reckon Bush should get the Peace-Process going. He's actually doing a very good job of it. Both parties are actually agreeing on things. This is the first thing scince 2001 that i have thought he has done well / is doing well.

Sadly, the troops probably wont be coming home anytime soon seeing how unstable the situation is. If Bu$h gets his way, Syria or Iran will most likely be next. They'll probably come up with "evidence" that WMDs were smuggled into Syria, and bomb them to hell. They'll probably also play the WMD card and regime change w/ Iran. Bush is too scared to go after North Korea, theys got Nuk-u-lar weapons! They'll take out the weak, 3rd world countries first.

Heh, and that doesn't include N. Korea? I don't think the US would like Korean War II...then we might have Vietnam II and things would really get ugly for Bush and Dick.

Syria and Iran arn't under the same U.N. sanctions against weapons of mass destruction. I doubt Syria or Iran will come under any real fire unless a terrorist action is linked to an orginization within their country. During the Iraqi conflict they were comming underfire for aiding and abeding Iraqi troops and potential war criminals.

North Korea is viable.

Heh, on that note the US and Britain STILL have to procure sufficient evidence of WMDs...poor Blair.

He doesn't want to lose votes in this election so he is going to calm down and try to promote peace. I am sure he has his eye on a few countries and when he is re-elected there is a pretty big chance he’ll take on at least one if not a few of them

the WMD card is a one trick pony. If we start another war on that pretext, all we are really doing is proving the McCarthyism of the US military machine. I think if Bush has any sense he will promote peace, and start trying to consolidate the areas he has already invaded by actually doing what he promised as far a liberation is concerned. The hard part is going to be making new regimes that dont look like US sattelites or puppet governments.

Because 2,000 years of "For God so loved the world" doesn't trump 1.2 million years of "Survival of the Fittest."

That's the hardest part of occupation...plus the Iraqis have differing views, some like the US army and want em to stay to offer protection, others want em to leave and had a democratic protest over it. Then they want em to sub in for police and other emergency services. Then after a few months when the US still hasn't withdrawn, they'll ask what they're still doing here.
Hmmm. >_<;
