I know that the Dead Kennedys aren't really classic rock at all, but anyone like them as well as classic rock? I just can't stop listening to them recently.

I just listened to the "I am the Walrus" 40 times, trying to decipher what the lyrics meant.

All I got was John Lennon was a walrus :[.

Peace Frog is a really good song, although I've found other Doors songs to be better.

Yesterday I was listening to "sweet home Alabama".

That song is so bad it's funny.

I like how their entire audience consists of fat white people in sun glasses.

Sure, that song is horribly overrated and it sucks, but it goes perfectly with the KFC commercials. Also, Freebird is the ultimate Skynyrd song. Sure, it's so long and monotonous at the end it's ridiculous, but the guitar intro and singing is still pretty epic.

You've never heard of The Doors!? Dude, that's like the basics of Classic Rock. It's almost like they're the text-book definition of Classic Rock.

Haha, thank you Wizard.

Break on Through = a tad overrated. But not like, Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce or something.

Nah, it's a combination of the intro and the three part harmony guitar solo.

Also, that clip posted is of the new Skynryd long after the plane crash, so it's not really a fair indicator.

Did you just say what I thought you said? How much Van Hagar have you listened to in all seriousness?

I mean Hagar was different from Roth, but to say the man sucks is wrong and generally I have found that people use Van Hagar-bashing as one of those "casual" ways to make others think they know their shit when in reality they know nothing about Van Halen, Hagar or for that matter rock music in general.

Much the same with those who say Clapton is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever when at most he is mediocre compared to his contemporaries (Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ronnie Wood and Steve Marriot to name a few,) and also those who say Kurt Cobain had talent when all he really did was create a fake legacy by painting the wall with brain, skull, blood and drugs. Saying something still doesn't make it true.

And for that matter "Right Now" is the most fantastical song Van Halen ever did, be it Roth, Hagar or Cherone on vocals.

And stuff to listen to: well at the moment I seem to be listening to a lot of stuff by; Jeff Beck Group, Dire Straits, Echo and the Bunnymen, a-ha and U2.

Shameless promotion of a thingin my userpage semi-related maybe.

Ted Nugent. I never get tired of his songs. His newest album Love Grenade is fucking awesome btw.

He's not really classic rock, but nice reference.

I just got Machine Head by Deep Purple. It has arguably the greatest riff ever (Smoke on The Water) on it, as well as awesome drum and keyboard solos, as well as sweet vocals. I really liked Lazy and Space Truckin' too. The keyboard solo on Lazy literally made me shit myself.

He's gotten a bit fat lately too. His fingers are like fat Swedish sausages or little smokies or something.

So, I've picked up more classic rock. Some Deep Purple and Cheap Trick. I just love the song Lazy by Deep Purple. It has the best keyboard intro/solo I've ever heard, and the guitar is right on. It's a great slow jam/blues thing.
