Van Halen with Sammy Hagar sucks.
Did you just say what I thought you said? How much Van Hagar have you listened to in all seriousness?
I mean Hagar was different from Roth, but to say the man sucks is wrong and generally I have found that people use Van Hagar-bashing as one of those "casual" ways to make others think they know their shit when in reality they know nothing about Van Halen, Hagar or for that matter rock music in general.
Much the same with those who say Clapton is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever when at most he is mediocre compared to his contemporaries (Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ronnie Wood and Steve Marriot to name a few,) and also those who say Kurt Cobain had talent when all he really did was create a fake legacy by painting the wall with brain, skull, blood and drugs. Saying something still doesn't make it true.
And for that matter "Right Now" is the most fantastical song Van Halen ever did, be it Roth, Hagar or Cherone on vocals.
And stuff to listen to: well at the moment I seem to be listening to a lot of stuff by; Jeff Beck Group, Dire Straits, Echo and the Bunnymen, a-ha and U2.
Shameless promotion of a thingin my userpage semi-related maybe.
