Ahhhh! Please don't hurt them! And I think you mean "if you ever want to see your family alive AGAIN", since I've already seen them alive...many times actually.
Also, has anyone seen any of Guns 'N' Roses new concerts since they "reformed"

I haven't personally (I loath and despise GnR at the best of times,) but I have yet to hear anything good about them from anyone.

Kinda. You know, some Pink Floyd here, some Rush there. It's all good music, but my ship has sailed for Classic Rock.

Eh, I'd hardly call Pink Floyd prog ('cept for DsotM and maybe Meddle), and Rush isn't that good IMO. They do have a couple of excellent songs though.

I reccomend listening to Gentle Giant's self titled first album. It's an awesome mix of blues, jazz, rock and classical.

*raises hand* My favorite song by them is "Not Alone Anymore" I think Roy Orbison's voice in that song was very clear and awesome :)

That's horrible!! You need to go to the original artist and pay recompense for that stolen music! You are a horrible person and deserve to die in a fire!

I would like to join this place. I really like classic rock music and prefer it over modern rock, so here's my list:

AC/DC
Alice Cooper
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Guns N' Roses
King Crimson
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Queen
Rainbow
Rush
Uriah Heep

And then there are heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Dio and Judas Priest.

Looking through the thread I have discovered a saddening fact. In their favourite bands list over half of repliers put Led Zeppelin, and a few put Cream, yet only I have put The Yardbirds.

Thou hast disappointed me.

Well, whattya know. I have the Yardbirds on my iPod. Your not alone out there ;)

But yeah, I agree. The Yardbirds are a good band, and its too bad they broke up when they did. They had some real potential. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page. The lineup is legendary.

I think King Crimson is an awesome progressive band, combines prog with psychedelic and classical music. In the Court of the of the Crimson King is an awesome song.

Actually, I think that's legal. It's called ripping. And I don't think the government would allow that to be a feature on Windows if it was illegal.

I really didn't want to list all my favorite classic rock bands, maybe I should, but I love Cream. I honestly haven't listened to the Yardbirds much, maybe I should.

Dude, a band that at one time or another had in it's lead guitar spot either Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, I think that gives the group some form of merit.

I know, but I'm pretty poor and their CDs aren't just lying around at any old store.

The new Super Wal-Mart opened, I'll look next time I roll by there. It's the closest thing to home that I call a CD store.

Gunners ARE good but it's a bit much to say they are the best. It all depends on the individual's tastes.

Sorry if this sounds a little rude or vindictive, but seriously, what is good about GnR? What do the fans in this thread find so appealling?

Well, Guns N' Roses is an alright band, but nothing too special. I seriously think The Who is the greatest band to ever live. Especially Keith Moon. He was awesome, both on and off the drums. Here's some tribute video someone made. I really like Keith's solo album "Two sides of the moon". And the song playing is on that album, where he covers the beatles' song "In my life". I think it's actually a lot better. Oh and here's The Who just screwing around playing Bobber Ann. I don't think they ever put this on any albums, Y'know they're just screwin around.

And Keith was banned from the vocal recordings by Pete Townshend, so he would always try to sneak in, case in point; right at the end of "Substitute, there is Pete Townshend yelling "I saw ya!" at Keith after he had managed to get into the building. Pete even went as far as saying that the vocals were being done at different times than they were to Moon.
