Thanks.

They told me they weren't interested in sponsoring any games at this time.

If a sponsor isn't interested in your game, and if your game isn't complete crap, will they respond saying so, or will they just leave you hanging?

They will normally tell you that they can't sponsor your game at this time. If they think your game is crap, they normally will not tell you. Its up to the designer to get the subtle hint and smarten up. However, I think that in some other cases, they just can't sponsor your game for real, for wathever reason.

Mochi Ads is great if your game spreads I've heard its about 200k views per 100 bucks and I beleve thats the minimum payout...

Not worth putting in unless you're fairly confident your game will reach the mil or 2 view mark..

Newgrounds doesn't account for very many of a popular games views I might add..

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Mochi Ads is best considered as an addition to a "plan" rather then a plan itself. IE. find a sponsor who will also let you use mochiAds or use MochiAds and try to attract people back to your site where you have google or other ads on your page. (and hopefully other games of yours they can play)

Often times a sponsor will not respond if they don't like the game. They want to avoid an argument (or even a discussion) since their time is limited.

I'll be happy to give you an honest opinion on your game. Drop me a note and I'll share my thoughts.

I dont think many sponsors would be keen on allowing you to additionally use mochiads because both the sponsor and mochiads get paid for exclusivity.

Anyway, i contacted Hallpass with no issues at all, Bill replying almost immediately. I also contacted both Dan and Inglor from Armor Games, and CrazyMonkeyGames, and neither of them have responded at all. Since im in Australia, i figured this was probably due to time differences and the weekend break, but its frustrating having to put Hallpass off for a bit just to let Armorgames and CrazyMonkeyGames match the offer. I got an excellent offer for my game from Hallpass, so i really want to know what AG or CMG will offer, but i dont want to spam them with emails.

So what do you think? Are AG and CMG disinterested, or is it just mistiming? Perhaps i should wait until it has been Monday all over the world...

Definitely give it some time, a few more days.

I think sponsors set limits for the amount of money they can put toward sponsorship every month. I know someone said something about legitgames sponsoring one game, but not his a day later or something, and after him sponsoring lemon smash, I talked to him about his site and everything and that was the case, he has a set amount he wants to put toward sponsorship, and a set amount he doesn't want to spend.

Kongregate will sponsor your game and allow you to keep MochiAds.

Additionally several other sponsors will split MochiAd revenue with you. At least one sponsor is basing payment off of MochiAd (and MochiBot stats)

Here is a thread I recently saw on MochiAd forums with an offer like this:
https://www.mochiads.com/forum-pub/comme nts.php?DiscussionID=194&page=1#Item_11

I'd love to find more sponsors open to this and I can make a "MochiAd compatible" page on Flash Game Sponsorship

Re:Timing - Definitely give it more time. Its hard to realize that people live in 'different worlds' regarding response times and not spending 'all day' on the computer (like myself). Most of the work I do requires constant communication with people.

However there are many people that will check their email on Monday... and then don't need to look again until next Monday. I don't 'understand' this but its true. ;)

Most of the sponsors discussed are only for games, i am looking for a sponsor for Flash movies.
Any good recommendations? And what is the range for the amount sponsored for movies?

I contacted CMG and ArmorGames about my new game (still front page woo) 3 or 4 weeks ago, still no response from either.

However my friend got a reply from ArmorGames and they just said "You should consider entering it into our contest". Which basically means if you don't win a prize they get the sponsorship for free.

Not sure what's with CMG at the moment though, John is normally really good. I wonder if my email being a hotmail got dumped into their junk folder (it did with AddictingGames).

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a game is worth a play.

Yea that's balls, unless you theme the game and it's a sure thing you'll crush the contest I'd really rather go somewhere else, because there are a lot of other sites willing to sponsor, and for a lot of games, the ag contest isn't the best choice.

I normally work with Bill at Hallpass, but I have exchanged emails with Rhys a bit over the past weekend. He normally took less than 24 hours to reply, but he could be busy.

Yep, he prolly cancelled the invite message D:

He hasn't responded to my emails either.

Probably a misunderstanding or something xP.

Wondering if Newgrounds does sponsors, the game is about Angry Faic and it would make sense if NG sponsored it I guess o_O.

That's weird, after giving it to you and another person I talked to him to make sure that it was ok, which he said it was.

I believe someone said that Hallpass isn't sponsoring at the moment though, so moving on might be a good idea.

Damnit.. you'd think they'd make sure about that before telling me to let them know when it was finished >_<.

Well thanks, I'll check out the other sponsors.

lol, well, I can't find a sponsor for my game, not even from the smaller arcades ._. Just about all the emails I sent came back with a rejection letter. I didn't think it was that bad.

I went with Kongregate on my last sponsorship. Basically, they pay well, they let you keep mochiads, they bump your revenue sharing on their site, AND you can still enter into their contests (I won $150 extra on one of my games). They also won't make you sign a contract (even that silly paypal agreement thing that some sponsors do) and they don't even want major branding, just a play more games link and their 3-second intro clip. So no ugly logos on the screen making people angry!

Three cheers for Kongregate!

I'm somewhat surprised by that, I would've thought that someone should be willing to give you at least a few dollars for that game. I just wonder, what is that music? It sounds like Daft Punk, if it is some sponsors might be backing out due to copyright-stuff.

Also, a functioning link: http://www.ngup.net/view.php?file=We%20A re%20Human ;)

Just a random bit of advice, don't try to get sponsorship from Armorgames while they have a contest running, unless you actually want to enter the contest. I've got nothing against the contest, I just prefer the security of knowing I'm definately getting rewearded rather than maybe getting rewarded.

Anyways, anyone had trouble with AS3 games? I've had a couple of sponsors back out, or use it as an excuse to offer less :/

I haven't started learning AS3 yet, I always figure that I will start after I finish the projects I'm currently working on, the problem is that if something gets finished I have always started on another one along the way :P I have CS3 though, school let me install one of their licenses on my computer as I need Flash for my project :D

But back on topic; What are their arguments for offering less if it's AS3, is it because it needs Flash Player 9? I can't come up with any other issues with sponsoring a AS3 game, but if that's the only reason the sponsors who does that are pretty much scamming you imo :/

Heh.. My Agnry Faic Lift game ended up in the contest in the end, but Dan was interested in sponsoring it I think, he told me it had a good chance in the contest.

Whether he was trying to avoid sponsoring me or not, I won $1000 :3.

Cheers for mentioning me Adam, and yay for me for finding it so late...

I've made the page you mentioned a lot simpler because I received complaints that it was too complicated!

Basically, I want to sponsor good games. Fixed amount up-front? Sure. Want to retain MochiAds, perhaps work out some payment based on the amount of plays your game gets? Hit me up and we can talk about it!

I'll always strive to reply within hours, not days :)

So if you are making any kind of war/fighting/shooting/violence-game that fits in with the MortarGames theme, just PM me here on NG and we can get going!

I'm finding it pretty hard to find games to sponsor. Seems you need to get your foot in the door somehow first so the word gets out.

So on that note, if anyone is looking for a sponsor, please drop me a note and we can talk. I'm looking for good, well-made games and willing to pay good money. My site (the sponsorer) is Rawcade.com. I also run GameLinks.com and a few other game sites.
