Casual Collective is the site ran by the creators of desktop tower defense and the original flash tower defense game. They are very trusted, I haven't worked with them but I know it is not a scam. 1000 for a non exclusive is a very good deal, most people don't get that for an exclusive deal, so I would take it.

Ive seen a few .co.uk sites but they seem to work in dollars anyway.

Just because the exchange rate is dire doesn't mean we still don't get a decent value on sponsorships though - the Euro sponsors will know what thier US counterparts are charging and will be competative after the exhange rate.

No UK sponsor will pay you £5000 if it's valued at $5000- they'll offer you the same £2500, but at least it won't be cut out by commission or HMRC (and hopefully, UK sponsors will be more personable to you meeting them in person and getting Cash in Hand or a Cheque rather than getting shivved by Paypal for 3%).

Try asking Ninjachicken if RustyArcade is looking for anything at the moment.

Greg was EXTREMELY fast in replying to messages. Speed is a hugely important thing for a sponsor to have in my book, and Greg and I were able to start, agree to, and Finish the deal within 3 days.

We didn't really talk much asides from business, but he seemed nice.
Of course, that could have been influenced by the fact that he was offering me money. :p

Overall, a very positive experience with applecartgames.com.
I highly recommend getting in touch with them if you're looking for sponsorship.

It seems like many sponsors don't get back to you unless they are interested in your game, the bigger ones (Armor Games, CrazMonkeyGames, etc.) usually do reply in any case though.

But keep in mind that it's weekend now, and some of those bigger sponsors are real companies which means regular working hours.

While you wait you can upload your game to this site, and you can also give a thought to if your game would do well with in-game ads instead of sponsorship.

I got in touch with Claire from gamesquat through one of my friends who she emailed about flash games. She seems to have some great contacts and managed to get our game featured on Addictinggames.com (although it hasnt actually happened yet!). She was also really fair about the sponsorship, paid really well and let us post an unbranded version of the game for the E4 Grandmaster Flash competition, which I thought was really cool.

Claire is professional, i havent spoken to any of the other members of thier "team", but they could perhaps do with someone who knew a bit more about flash games .For example, sponsors like Rustyarcade (Ninja chicken) and Armor Games (Inglor) make games themselves and might have a better idea about a games worth, and could also offer technical help if needed.

Saying that, they gave us a really good price for the game and paid up, although we did have to wait a little longer than we wanted.

Claire always kept me up to date and offered useful help and ideas. She also replied to all of my emails nice and fast. As i mentioned earlier she seems to have loads of contacts in the industry, which can be really useful for distributing your games and getting featured and such.

They are always really friendly and easy to talk to, and we are on first name basis. Its also easy to talk to her if you have any problems with the sponsorship terms or anything like that, for example I wasnt happy with putting the logo on the games HUD, and she didnt force me to do anything and let me not put it in.

I had sent emails to about 20 sites. I got 5 replies... 4 were uninterested, AddictingGames was enthusiastic.

I regularly communicated via email with a Ms Anya Combs, Developer Relations Associate with the company. She answered questions about contracts, API, etc. very promptly and courteously.

I asked for $500 US for the game, and got it, with the proviso that the game would be exlusive to AddictingGames.com for a week. The contract stipulated non-disclosure, but AddictingGames also gave permission for me to review the sponsorship experience here...

I can't really use a star rating system, as I've nothing to compare this sponsorship to, but I would HIGHLY reccomend dealing with AddictingGames! (I'll post a link to the game when it is online).

They might not be interested, or you are too anxious and you need to wait a bit longer.

I think so, but you better read FGL rules to make sure.
Btw, only sponsors look your game at FGL. So while there are 600+ registered sponsors, you will probably only get like 10-20 views for your game. Mochiads will give you 0$ for that :). So it's better imo to not to piss off the sponsors looking your game with mochiads when you won't even make any money for it.

Sponsors often take a few days to respond to mails, and now on the on the holidays they are even less likely to being able to respond quickly. Just hang in there though, if you put down two years making the game then you shouldn't rush this. Put the game on FGL, send out mails to even more sponsors, then be patient and you will have a better chance at getting a neat sum for your game :)

Review for Kongregate:

Kongregate is by far the best sponsor, from what I've experienced. I first approached them with Rocketcat, the first game had ever attempted to get sponsored. They offered me a very generous amount, much more than I was expecting considering I only made the game in a few days. They took between 2-3 days to reply to each email, which is average I guess.

Despite the fact that Rocketcat wasn't very successful, they were still willing to give me a second chance and offered me the same amount for Jumpcat a few months later. Jumpcat was considerably more successful, and in light of this, they gave me a very nice bonus a few weeks later, which almost doubled the original value.

Kongregate also allows you to sell a "non-exclusive site locked license" to other websites. For those who aren't familiar, this basically means another site can pay you to have a version of the game locked to their site, with the Kongregate branding removed, which allowed me to make even more cash.

Kongregate's revenue sharing also provided a few hundred more dollars.

Overall, I am extremely happy with Kongregate; most sponsors will just give you money and that's it. But Kongregate stepped up and very honestly and kindly gave me more money when my game was more successful than they had aniticipated, without even being asked to.
