There was a commercial a while ago during the 2004 election where a lady cried that her son was lost in Iraq.
Now, I am in no way, shape, or form implying that the sacrifice was meaningless, but, hey lady, HE FUCKING SIGNED UP! WE DO NOT HAVE A DRAFT. HE VOLUNTEERED. He raised his right hand and swore that he understood that "... my life may be taken..."
Now, I don't want to star a war (pardon the pun) over Iraq, but I'm sick of this bitching about how some lady's son got killed in Iraq.
Agreements? Disagreements? Opinions?
BTW if anyone cares, 1655, (or 1288) days until enlistment in the USMC. ^.^ (United States Marine Corps)

Yeah, I saw a documentary about a women who protested Bush by sitting out in a public square telling people how her son "wrongfully" died in the war and its Bush's fault.
The only thing I could think of is what did she think was going to happen when her son signed up during a war?
Faith tramples all reason, logic, and common sense.
PM me for a sig.

Maybe he signed up before the war started, thinking that if he was sent to war, he would be sent for a worthwhile cause.
And by "he thought he would be sent for a worthwhile cause" I mean "his mother would think the cause was worthwhile even after he had died for it"

He died in 2004 after a year and half of service.

I always take the view that if you sign up for the military the you should fully accept the risk that you may die in combat. You shouldnt get to bitch about it afterwards.
That said, we (or rather you) currently have in office the most trigger happy (and posibally dumbest) president in recent years. the military should be the LAST resort, not the first.

That he would live....That the war, which was sold to the public under false pretenses and was advertised as being a quick win, would be over quickly...
