Is there anything in particular you'd like us to do with the context menu?

Feels too slow, may be lag. But the jumping seems to be like lowgravity and I don't like it.
The actual BG graphics suck, and make it look worse than it is. Also, it doesn't continue the style of the wiggi. You need graphics with bold lines, highlights and shadows.
Hittest with coins is a little limited. Should be easier.
On all the slopes he kinda jigs down them. Looks bad.

Fix these things and you'll be starting to make a great game.

I agree with all of these comments...P.S. you better make the engine I provided A LOT better than what it is if you expect to win anything.

I've played on the site, and there is a lot of well, propaganda about relationships.

LOL, there's a reason for that...all these little kids got online and all they did was run around asking to be boyfriend and girlfriend...like, that was ALL they did...so we put some guidelines in about "hooking up" in WW.

Are we allowed to have a relationships between wiggies in the games we are making?
We want to make a game where you have to save your boyfriend or girlfriend (depending on the character you choose).
Are we allowed to refer to them as girlfriend/boyfriend?

Yeah, it's not a big deal...that's a pretty common story foil for games, so I don't think it'd be too outrageous.

I'm possibly going to enter. But i'm going away soon for 10days. And have other projects. But i'm off school so i could give it a go. Whens the closing date? I couldn't see it in the rules.

Do a title search on NG for "wiggi"

Nope, it will inherit the traits of your game's parent (ie: the WW master engine) so don't mess with it.

Is it a problem if our game does not appeal to the lower end of the age range? I'm hoping it might, but like everything i make, it's starting to get a little bit complicated. The concept's a little strange, but it's coming along quite well.

Currently i have a functional game engine capable of bouncing a hovercraft around fairly realistically and generating random mathematical problems. So yes, odd concept >.>

Nope, games can vary in age-level appropriateness. So go for it!

It's a wonderful night... gotta shake it for me, it's a wonderful night!
Comon and break it on down!

Anyways, I'm-a-bored.

Thought I'd post some artwork here I've done.

Then ask BoMToons a question about his artstyle, (considering I'm going to have to copy it).
How would you go about the backdrops?
Right, here is one decent backdrop/level. I can't be arsed to remove the ice, live with it
The one I'm having trouble with: without Backdrop
with backdrops
Those are the two demonstrations of ice colours, and they both look out of place... more detail prehaps?!? I donno. Looks odd.
I can't get the background to have any depth, it looks flat. And it doesn't fit the level.

Any suggestions... any at all? Would be much appreciated :D

Oh, and LOL at the response to the propaganda, BoMToons... will you be my e-boyfriend?

Sorry, another question about your art style.
Do you draw with lines, convert them to fills and then tweak them?
They seem almost like lines, but not quite... plus, they are fills :P (giveaway).
If you don't do it like that, what smoothing setting do you have your brush to?

sorry for the dp mods, actually... i don't really care

Don't take the example fla I posted as an example of my style, it was actually made by someone else in illustrator, then imported into flash, so it's not exactly representational of my style. I do most of my art in a program called "freehand" which imports seamlessly into flash. It makes it real easy to mess with line weights and do gradients etc.

As for your bgs, the desert one doesn't look bad at all. For the ice level I'd say use some more smooth lines (less points) and make sure to integrate lots of highlights and have multiple "levels" to the BG. I'm not an ice expert though, so good luck!

We'll take any of your highscore stuff out if it ends up getting into WW, but for the NG version, you're welcome to use armorbot or other equivalent high score tables.

Any chance that you are going to put up more music for us to use, like the songs you used in Hungry Hungry Wiggies?

Would it be possible to have multiple scores?

Because I've made a game with multiple levels, and I reckon it'd be good to have a seperate score for each stage. If not I could just have it so you have to play all the levels in order and get a total score at the end like i did with Wiggi Woods. Sorry if this questions already been asked like.

Don't worry about it for this competition, in the future we may release an API to do stuff like that, including a way to get their Wiggi graphics with all their current clothes etc.

You'll need to wrap everything into one overall score variable.
