Yeah, I've been educated on how "Wog" could be offensive...I've passed the info on to my superiors and we'll see if they consider it serious enough to make a change.

Bomtoons, I really think this site is a good idea, and far from me the idea of being a naysayer or criticize it, so please don't get me wrong when I say the following... but I need to point it out.
The name "Wiggi" reminds me too much of "Wigger"..!

I'd like to do a game for this, haven't got a clue what I'd do though. I'm mostly a coder, so if someone needs a coder for their game, call me :D

Sorry with all the questions- I just want to be sure about everything beforehand.

1) On the exit button on the title screen/main menu, what code should we use, or are you going to throw that in?

2) Can I have an "exit game" button in the game, so the current point total can be converted to Wogs even if the game isn't played all the way through?

3) Can we use music from the audio portal, or will you be taking out links in the credits that refer to Newgrounds in anyway...?

4) Will you be developing high score tables on WiggyWorld, or can we use something like armorbot, or just no?

5) Can we link back to the main menu after/during the game, or are players limited to getting a score once per day?

6) Can I have 2 slightly changed versions- one for newgrounds, and one for WiggiWorld? The only differences being: a) ability to save the game (could cause cheating on WiggiWorld or making it easier/harder to get the gold medal) b) a high score system c) taking out the WiggyWorld functions for newgrounds d) Taking out the exit button

If you could clear this up for me, thanks. I'd like to participate, but I would like to be sure about everything.

No problem, all great questions.

Don't need anything there, we'll put that in.

Yeah, that's fine, just call the same function listed for ending the game normally.

We will be releasing a few audio tracks to use in your games early next week...no copyrighted music allowed. If you can find something in the NG audio portal that's appropriate, that'd be fine.

High scores will be integrated into WW by us, but if you want to have 2 versions, as mentioned below, you can set up a high-score table for your NG version through armorbot or whatever other you decide.

Let me check with the head programmer on this one.

I had a great suggestion to release a sprite sheet of wiggies for people like you that don't have an artist to team up with, so be on the lookout for that in the next couple weeks.

Yeah, that one we've considered and we think it's different enough that most people won't get too offended by it.

August 10th eh? I might possibly work on something with my friend who I worked on my Rock On game with (which is coming out soon, so LOOK OUT!)

Ok, sounds great. I didn't really see why you wanted the Newgrounds link, so I kind of thought it'd be okay to have a Newgrounds version and a WiggiWorld version.

Dont see how it could be... At the end of the day if your game is suitable for the audience then it will be accepted into the competition, I imagine. A quiz game probably wouldnt win the prizes though as the idea isnt that original... Unless you did it REALLY well and put some good art in or something.

Not a bad idea, we have a couple memory games on there already, but they're the classic card-flipping ones. So yours could bring something new to the table.

Here are some other game ideas for the type of stuff we're looking for:

1. Maybe a game where you have to maintain little bases or outposts by collecting and distributing resources according to their needs

2. Mini games like avoid the falling whatevers, or circle what's different between 2 pictures, etc. are fun for little kids

3. Adventure games where you go around and collect different items to help people or rescue the princess, or save the world I think would be great too.

4. Puzzle games like dr mario or arrange the tiles to form a picture could be fun.

5. Platform or action games where you avoid stuff while jumping or flying or falling would entertain the little tikes too.

6. It would be interesting to see someone come up with a "tower" defense style game where you place turrets that defend your base from oncoming monsters or something...just can't be too violent...maybe water balloons or water pistols or something.

Overall, this contest allows for a TON of imagination, just think of something you'd enjoy playing and try to theme it around the cute wiggies.

Okay, I've come up with an idea. But can I give out level passwords to save progress, or would that mess up your gold medal/Wog earning system. If not on WiggiWorld, I would definitely want to throw that in the Newgrounds version.

Could I PM you the idea for the game to get some feedback, so I don't have to worry about giving others my idea?

A password system probably wouldn't fit very well into the WW version, but go ahead on the NG one.

This sounds like a great contest to hold on to the Newgrounds community, I am really interested in making a game for this.

I have drawn loads of art for a game but it's just ideas on what I could do for a game what is really holding me back. Is there a way I contact you through an instant messaging program such as AIM or MSN?

I am pretty sure the ClockCrew would love to work together on working on games so I will see if they are interested.

The whole idea for making a game for a 5 year old is generally amazing, it may be a simple game to make compared to others but its far more harder coming up with an idea to actually produce which is appropriate for a child.

Does it have to be a multiplayer game and can I use the wiggy in the logo in my game as long as I'm the one who made it?

Sounds like a cool idea, I've already had several offers to work with people though :)

Also, have you got any images which show what a typical Wiggi Town or Pet might look like?

Single player and/or multiple people on the same keyboard...no multiplyer functionality would be feasible.

Yes, you can even make site specific versions with highscores and such as long as the preloader is kept intact.

Not trying to be picky but parents would like the talk bubbles to have good grammar, the "i" should be a capital and should have a period at the end... Parents will like it better if it has good grammar.
