This past Friday morning, I made the long drive to check on the progress of a "secret project" of ours. I wasn't planning to let this cat out of the bag until it was ready, but I'm impatient and I just have to share it with everyone.

So, it was off to the foundry! Here, the trophy was duplicated as a series of wax models, which then became bronze castings. The FINAL forthcoming step is to apply a patina to the castings, giving them a smooth, shiny finish. The tanks will then each be mounted to a marble base, with an engraved plaque for the winner.

Ooh, swanky. These trophies look a little unfinished at the moment, but with how you've described them at the moment, they sound like they will become a very sought after prize. Oh how I wish I could win one, but I'm pretty much aware that I never will - not unless you give writer's prizes, that is *nudge nudge*

this might not be true but did someone notice the tank's cannon can be moved up and down? i can see the hinge there and some tanks' canons' position is different, some seem to be higher than others...

Wow.... I've got mixed feelings on this idea, but assuming the system isn't abused like the automated system for flash movie protection, I think it can only mean good things for serious members wanting to make a name for themselves or just as a thank you to the hardest working members on the website. Here's hoping it becomes an award to be proud of tom =D

Tom...out of every person who owns and runs a website in cyberspace, I must say you are the most individual, creative and thankful towards your fan base. I think you're the one who deserves a trophy the most. But this project shows how much you care about the fan base here.
