Well my Siamese cat Tabatha dies recently about 9 hours ago Just woke up from sleeping and I was wondering how to get over losing her for the 14 I spend with her. She was the greatest cat in the world but she when you took her to the vet due to shortness of breath I thought it was nothing but it wasnt she had kidney failure, lung problems and heart disease. My family took to the vet 2 days ago and she seemed fine. But yesterday night 9:40 pm eastern time we put her to sleep forever due to the fact she was suffering. May she rest in peace. I just wanted to tell you all this due to the fact Im sad and I wanted to get this off my chest

I had a Siamese cat named Chandler who died about 2 years ago. He was as old as I was, I had him around my whole life. It was the first time I cried in like 8 years, horrible experience.

But the best way to get over it is to just wait it out. You can't really do anything to get over it more quickly, you just have know that you will eventually. 6 months from now (probably a lot earlier) you'll feel a whole lot better about it.

But in order to make the time between now and then more bearable, to help cushion the transition, just drink heavily. That's what I did, and it worked.

That's sad, I remember being like 6 years old and hearing that Whiskers died and I went outside and see her body beneath the swing set. It turned out a dog had attacked her. I was so sad. I understand how you feel. I send my condolences to Tabatha. You did the right thing by putting her to sleep, you saved her pain and agony, and for that I'm sure she is great full. You also need to know that even though she isn't with you physically, you have her memory and you had the wonderful experience of owning a truly wonderful pet.

Sorry man I feel for you. My girlfriend's cat died about a month ago of renal failure. The cat was nineteen and she would've been twenty by now. At least she isn't suffering anymore though.

Im so sorry 2 here that. I have a cat to and she is 22. so she will probably be bushing up daisies soon. Plus she has just been lying on a toolbox and only gets up for food or water.

I have lost two cats, one to a siezure, one to being 19.5 years old (in people years).
They're both buried in my back yard with nice little tombstones.
