Nothing really for artists/animators, for scripters.

Well filter whores can go on a rampage now...
The filters are currently a little less laggy. But still lag depending on how much filters you use and whether you use a colour property (alpha, tint etc.) and tween.
The entire interface has been 'adobe-ified', it's all 'shinier', even when it doesn't need to be. It uses more memory than Flash 8 because of the transition effects when you retract the timeline. (I think ... I dunno, It just seems like it cause it lags when you do...)
The interface is also more convineit for wide screen users 'cause the retracted sides are only 'half-retracted'. Although this is a down side to normal monitor users.
AS3 also. It makes actionscript more cleaner and easier for scripters.

Bullshit.
What about the improved pen, the rectangle and oval primatives, copy and paste motion tweens, importing Illustrator and Photoshop files and exporting to Quicktime files with nested movie clips?

Doubtful, you first buy a program that's over $500 after that you're gonna check what it really does. I smell piracy and socks, nevermind the socks.

Don't all be so cynical and paranoid. It's uncharacteristic for me to have to be the trusting one >.<

CS3 is bullshit, it wasnt worth a new release, give me some fucking photoshop tools or something if youre going to charge me $200 for an upgrade.
I'm sure AS3 is good for programmers, but no filter lag and a few crapish tool ad ons is not worth 250 in my book.

it really was a good step up but people seem to not like it. it doesn't lag either if you have a nice computer (like mine for example) and it really is easier to work.
