Easily beat. I just let those damn blobbing bosses go because the last thing I need is four more bosses after I'm done with them. I also tried to kill the ROFLcopter bosses (not very hard obviously), so those went through too.

However, like you guys have been saying, Plasmas sum it up. I also had one red Sonic turret, which did A LOT of work up until the high 40's. And still then it helped.

But Mission 6 is sooo damn hard! The enemies have too much health and it doesn't help that there are 100 waves. I know this mission is "impossible," so you could say I'm playing for no reason, but I just like to try since Mission 5 = too easy.

Somebody tell me how to start off in Mission 6, I can't get past the 30's...

I personally have olny gotn up to wave 62 on lvl 6, the highest ever was 93 i belive, but if you go to youtube.com you can get many videos on the lvls, they help a lot.

The lvl 6 stratgey that comes closet to the game has already been posted by myself and there are images on page 4 of this strategy.

Basically you place vulcan to direct the two enterences to the nw corner of the map. Then you set up a few sams going north to south (only 1-2 to start). From their you "bounce" which is the selling of a vulcan (creating a new exit) and builing another vulcan were the original exit was. This is the most cost effective way to destroy the ground troops, leaving you with a lot (and i mean a lot) of money to spend on anti-air guns. Using this strategy (found on a japanese forum) you can have 16 DCA (reds) to kill the wave 100 (though this will still fail to win you the game). This strategy is very effectove for wave 5, allowing the possibility of a perfect game (no lives lost).

Further confirmation that mission 6 is impossible to beat

There are programs now available to "cheat" the game. These cheats include infinite money and infinite lives.

Those who've hacked the game point out that need the infinite lives cheat to win. Despite giving themselve 80k, they simple cannot put enough firepower out their to kill the flyers on wave 100.

This game is way to addictive and I can't get past level 6-79.
I maze the aliens in the middle where all the fire power is and then have them run around the sides when the flying f**kers come, seems to work up to a point (made it to level 79 with 8 in health) but there simply is not enough firepower. I use the wulcan amped up to red (400 damage) and the plasma and freeze turrets. I tried without the dca, don't work. The sams & sonic are to expensive compared to the damage you get & they don't seem to work against the flyboys. I've tried without the maze, but there's no way I can kill 'em all in one shot.
Has anyone actually made it all the way through? It seems impossible.
I even wrote down which level the diff aliens come, so I can get the walkers out of the way when the flyboys get in.. Yes, I'm obsessed & I just want to get through it now.

get some more plasma and upgrade them make sure you have that anti air because the airs always killed me

I found the cheat for this one & got me unlimited cash. I would still like to beat it fair, but I wanted to see what it takes to get through this sucker. Since there's no cash limit I rocked 'em around. The white vulcans are the door keepers.
I doubt I'll ever beat it, as you can see, it takes every single one of those dca's.
Sorry about all the pictures, I just feel so damn proud, cheat or no (still took me two tries).
With unlimited cash there's probably a simpler/more elegant solution

ok I got an idea for level 100. I have read the post where the college students concluded that it is impossible to kill off all the aircrafts at level 100 even with unlimited cash, and I believe that person. However, what if you can manage to survive level 93 without losing 1 life, then you sell all your anti-aircrafts that you constructed in the middle, and construct new anti-aircraft at a.. how do I describe this.. make a right triangle at the top of the screen, and a right triangle at the bottom of the screen with your anti-aircrafts in a fashion so that it only attacks the aircraft wave coming from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen, while leaving the aircrafts coming from left to right untouched? If it can pick up only a few aircrafts coming from the top down, maybe, just maybe, you may be able to win with 1 or 2 life remaining (but you have to get through level93 without losing a single life first).

I'm not even going to try though. I made it to level 93 and I'm not going to put more time into this. The last level should be level 93 or level 99; i mean, i'm sure you can get up to, like level 130 if there is no aircrafts and you have a lot of time, but the aircrafts just go straight from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen , and there is no room for creativity in aircraft killing if it only go in a straight line.

Well, I just reach level 93 on level 6. I lost one life at 49 at the first 2 flying bosses, then retained the rest until 86; but on that and 93 the flyers still got through. My total expenditure on killing the land aliens was approximately 1600 (including using 3 [yes, three] vulcan gates), I only built 3 fully upgraded SAMs.

Other that that and a weird shaped maze - literally my DPS area and a couple of run-off routes (bottom one rarely used) everything else went into air defense...but a swarm of 100,000 hitpoint fliers is just too much - I really don't know how to add more air defences.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm obsessive compulsive so as far as I'm concerned, giving up is not an option ^^.

While I'm here, I did a little homework on all the turrets while trying to find a decent method for beating level 6 so here's a rundown of all the turrets and why you should and should not use certain types.

I'm doing them in order of cost of the max upgrade (including buy cost):

Vulcan - 200 gold
Range: 180
Damage: 400
Rounds per minute: 30
Special features: n/a
The colossal range on the cheapest turret and joint-cheapest to max out is simply not enough to make up for this turret's shortcomings. No splash, no stun, no slowing ability, nothing - it's overall dps is pitiful, avoid in level 6.

Freeze - 200 gold
Range: 75
Damage: 40
RPM: 30
Special: Freeze & splash
Oddly enough, this turret is not used for damage, but it's slow ability, while not paticularly potent is extremely useful when efficiently dishing out DPS to land targets (dumped next to a SAM or a BFG, you're effectively increasing the range of it's neighbours = very good). Most importantly, smart placement amongst a group DCAs is crucial for taking out the harder level of fliers.

Missile - 400 gold
Range: 140
Damage: 256
RPM: 20
Special: Splash
When it comes to laying down huge DPS on large numbers of land targets, nothing does it better than the SAM. You'd think this honour would belong to the sonic tower, but it doesn't and I'll explain why later.

BFG - 450 gold
Range: 90
Damage: 320
RPM: 120
Special: n/a
The BFG serves one purpose: huge dps against a single target. It is both anti-land and anti-air and is quite popular as a general DPS master; I beg to differ. The SAM will handle all your land DPS with properly managed targets far better than this. However, the BFG's biggest strength is versus the flying bosses (level 49 and 58[?]). At about level 40, you will want to start building these. Once past the 2nd pair of flying bosses however, sell them - they won't see any use after that and the cash is best put towards new DCA's

DCA - 640 gold
Range: 75
Damage: 480
RPM: ?? (I'm fairly sure it's 240 - needs more testing)
Special: AA & splash
Your AA tower...can't say more. Build one, max it, build one, max it...ad infinitum - 98% of level 6 consists of this task.

Sonic - 745
Range: 40
Damage: 320
RPM: 30 (Fairly sure)
Special: 20% stun & AoE
You'd think the single most expensive turret in the game would be a truly awesome weapon to aspire to use - but, no. It's splash damage effect is effectively smaller than a fully upgraded SAM. It's single-target DPS is greater than the SAM's, but if you want single-target DPS you buy the cheaper BFG. At the very least it's complement your DPS turrets well due to it's stun, right? Again, no. A SAM (my preferred DPSer) combined with a freeze tower benefits hugely due to the freeze slowing down the first targets that walk by and the ones behind catch up - ergo, your SAM hits more targets at once and hence: greater DPS. But the random chance of the stun on the sonic means some targets get through uninhibited and others are stuck, the trail of targets becomes spread out, your SAMs hit fewer targets per shot: lower DPS. Put simply, avoid like the plague.

I finally did mission 4! <:'D Upgrading turrets really is the way. Don't spend too much time mazing earlier on, only extend the maze when you need to later. Instead, start upgrading plasma turrets 4 or 5 times to light blue. They take off like 50HP/shot, and they fire a lot faster too. Build a few plasma turrets in a small area and max them out as soon as possible, and put plenty of sonic turrets and freeze turrets near by to hold the xenos in place while the plasma's take care of them. I managed to take out most of the level with this one little arrangement, which you can see in the top half of this screeny:

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan its impossible. I got upto wave 78 and all the monsters had maximum hp and i had no cash. I upgraded most of the guns but they do minimal damge. In this picture is 4 waves of aliens and one of them is a boss who had an hp of 220K and all the rest of the monsters had 24 K health.

Few tips:

*Don't try to upgrade loads of turrets a couple of levels, upgrade one or two at a time to max level.

*DON'T build the sonic turrets, they're just not worth it.

*Rocket towers - although they have the lowest single-target DPS, they have a massive AoE effect which makes them the most cost effective turret in the game. Literally, 2 maybe 3 of these is enough to handle all your ground-based DPS.

*LOTS of AA. Build a lot near the centre of the map, and near the upper border build a couple of freeze towers. The theory is: the flyers on the left enter the map first, so let them reach your AA and get destroyed as quick as possible before the flyers from the top of the map come down. Sadly, AA towers don't currently do any AoE effect, although I'm sure they are supposed to. I wrote to the author about it and well...he's got other things to do. I might ask him for the source code in an attempt to make this game completable without cheating.

I was stuck forever on level 79 also. I finally beat it and got to level 86 where the fliers got me. On level 78 I sold both red SAM's I used to kill walking aliens (my kill zone is in the upper right corner of the screen). With the money from the SAMs, I upgraded more DCA's. That finally allowed me to complete 79 with 7 to spare. I tried the same strategy for level 86, but more than 7 got through. Check out my pic.

Hey Thanks for the info, your info helped me pass mission 6 lvl 86 where I had been stuck before. I now achieved mission 6 lvl 93. I even sold my 3 fully upgraded SAMs to have more DCAs but it still wasn't enough. I only managed to kill 3 fliers with all those DCAs. I attached a pic of my layout a few seconds before the fliers came out.
