Hello all, following on from my last competition I am doing round 2. I took inspiration from one of the entries recieved in the previous one and have thus put the contest forward on this basis.

I better start with the requirement:

Your entry should be a double-page (or more) manga/anime 'book'. I have attached a reference art-work from the last competition that gave me the idea. Basically if you've read a Japanese manga translated into English, it's that kinda thing. Panels that can be followed, with dialogue. The number of panels per page is up to you, but two pages are required. You will likely need to link to an off-site picture of your entry, once made I guess, to keep quality.

The topic of the panels should be Sarai WILL psychoanalyse you based on one of my larger topics in General. make it funny, violent, sexy, sad, whatever you want. Bonus prizes though for the entry that most feels like I'm reading an edgy Battle Royale / Death Note manga. Please be aware that the start of my topic is not the way it went from about page 20... They became proper, in-depth analysis things :)

Uhh, there are pictures of me around, profile, on my photobucket, or my Myspace (click sig).

Prizes

1st place; $60 paid like last time via USD cash if you live in the states, or if you live elsewhere, similiar arrangement.
OR
You can have a painting from Old Boy, being the exact same pose the killer at VT used in his videos. The painting is hand-done, showing the protagonist hammer raised... Pics on request. Note this is for UK only winners, as shipping would be too high. It's framed and huge!

2nd place: $30 as above

3rd place: Battle Royale Manga books in UK or $15 in US.

You may enter as you will, the basic requirement is a book style thing :) Graphic Novel sin city panels are fine.

mhmmm time to bust out the ol sticky stuff on some paper again....

and after that if i have time ill draw something for the contest.

its funny because screen tone is a clear plastic sticker like substance that is used for shadows and shade when doing manga, so that is what i made you all believe it is what i was talking about in the first segment of my post,As you read on you will find it to be a funny little word play contradicting my first line. .....also made it sound as if it was a masturbation joke...yes..funny....indeed

Yes, I am, so I can read simplified :)

Chinese is best, or anything... It can be some of those fashion-type cheong-sam or what-not ;) Up to you. Remember this is NG, over-the-top violence, sexiness, etc, whatever :)

Sure, two pages, that's basically just like opening a comic book and seeing the two pages.

5) Any criteria for judging the entries? Just want to make sure I don't miss anything.

Hopefully I will have independent judges for it :) Otherwise, it's what is interesting, innovative and well-done.

Heh, I better make this deadline then 30th June 2007. :)

I still have the Battle Royale one, yes, it's a lovely painting, but somewhat in a different class to the Oldboy one which was why I wasn't including it as a prize. For a start it's twice as large and I can't even carry it! :)

I'll photo the Oldboy painting today and post it up later :) Thanks for the interest...

I got an e-mail from a member with some questions, they seem useful enough for everyone to hear the answer!

No, however see Jade's entry above for a great example of getting it right.

Well, the language used can either be English, Chinese, Korean or anything you want. If you can make it witty with English that's great, if you can't quite think of words, use some Korean symbols if you want. In regards to 'panels' when you do a comic each 'cell' of the story is often called a panel I believe. SO for example Jade has one panel on her second pic and more on her first.

we give in the comics are boundless?

You have unlimited genre to use, however the topic is my kinda well-known 'I will psychoanalyse you' thread that is in the general Forum. The genre can take that and should make it work, for example... Freud (who was a rather sexually messed up guy) invented the whole psychoanalysation thing in the first place with his leather sofa... You could take that and work with it, or decide that the way I get my ideas for people is to stalk them... torture them, whatever.

4. if there is ANY DEFINITE RULE to this, please list them, because

Well, the topic is defined for you. If you read my thread / some of my posts you know who I am, there are pictures as well. I've got a bit of 'history' on Newgrounds... Not all of it great, so I think there's plenty of wit / grit / reality you could work into a two page spread... EG, I used to be a mod... With that thread did I found out something bad about Wade and get kicked out? I am an accountant... Can that be made to be funny? Etc

I watched recently, 'I'm a Cyborg but that's ok' and some quite explicit Korean art-house cinema. Yeah, as I said, probably 200 or so K-DVD.
