It was good, but I think you should watch this so you can get more ideas on the style :)
Oh, and the lines were too rough, what smoothness did you set them to?

I still don't understand how people can call 'Swigly flaying lines' FBF. FBF means Frame by frame you know...
But your animation should have more frames in between. You should refine your lines also. (Make them smoother.)

1. Penboy, I have already seen that, that was my influence.
2. I am absolute noob soooo, how you set the smoothness?
3. Fbf in this style is art in itself

why does anyone who FBFs their animations always do these abstract arts? Cant we atleast get some Jcamelos out here? Or maybe a Terkoiz? (no, not the actual users but other users who are as good or better than them)

What I meant was that if someone does an FBF collab, everyone ALWAYS does a squiggly line things. There was oner exception though. I can't remember what the name was.
Like A Simple Line 8. THAT's true FBF.
Smoothing; What zoom are you using?, Because you should be at 200% at least. Make sure your lines are in sync with your onion skinning as well for an extra added smoothness.

Honestly, it is not good at all. I've seen and blammed dozons of "FBF" animations just like this one. It's boring and not a bit unique. Try to make something meaningful, random squiggly lines is played out. Find a different way to do frame-by-frame.
Truthfully, how long did it take you to make that? I'm guessing 45 minutes, tops. Spend time on something and don't just animate straight ahead, use inbetweening, go from point A to point B. It just seems like there wasn't any forethought put into what was happening.
Good luck with your project though. I'm sure you will improve with time.

Terrible, line art like this makes fbf look bad. It's been done thousands of times before, and takes little or no effort at all.
With sticks you at least get to practice with the way a person moves, and will benefit you somehow in the long run.

Just because it's done a lot, doesn't mean it sucks. I mean... look at madness! Thousands of people try to copy it , yet everyone still says it's good if it is good quality, so what you are saying is... that anything that is done a lot is a bad piece of work. Such as Zelda... a lot of people make zelda movies and I see 'Zelda: Heart for the hero" Getting number 2 best score of all time and weekly number 1! So I will not take your post in to account, I'm sorry
I hate negative people, just because it's been done a lot, doesn't mean it can't be good, I mean does it show skill? Or has it been done to much to even show any skill at all, I mean come on -.-

I'm just saying if you take something that was lame to begin with, do it a million times, it isn't lame anymore, in fact its ultra lame.
I'm actually trying to help you out here, line animations serve nothing more than a free blam point.
And about Zelda being done a thousand times, I've never seen anything like heart of the hero before. So I don't know how that applies.

I agree with Gunnage here

Yet this is a very valid point, learning how the anatomy of a person (or any object) helps a a great deal in animating more fluently. I found trying to give as much character to your stick helped me, as well as messing with faces. What people have to realise is that in the role of Animator, it is necessary to study the motion of everything.

Well, you've got the basics down on FBF, but don't consider that too much of an FBF, the line business is quite... um... not so good.
And about Madness, everyone does hate the copycats, we love krinkels, but like every other madness remake is crap.
And zelda, tons of zelda movies have been blammed because they were bad, but there are a few that are exceptional.
These line things, are never any different then the last one.
Still, all in all, good practise. From here, you should try walk cycles in FBF.
Whoa its me!

The lines need to be curved when they make a turn and it needs to be smoother and more detailed... dont just make the explosion of the heart lines and stuff. Not saying it sucks, just giving advice, FBF takes time, you need it..

Firstly, make sure you don't miss frames with stuff (You did with the gun). Secondly. It's a little choppy. Make it like 30 FPS and make them closer together. Nice Idea, just keep learning

So you're posting this for us to suck your balls and tell you you're awesome?
If you can't accept a bit of criticism, that's your problem, but then don't post.. In my opinion, the whole point of the NG BBS is to get better through critics wether they're nice or not.

LOL. Indeed, theres always going to be a wide variety of critique. Newgrounds has alot of people who will tell it like it is, or be mean, but its all just opinions. All people are saying is, don't get too cocky with this simple animation, it is good for a start, but you should try something new now.

What I meant by that is... it's good to get someone who just has things nice to say every now and then. I like this criticism, it has helped me because I'm developing a new piece with all this criticism and suggestions bared in mind. Sorry if I said it in the wrong text.

Good animation consists of 2 things.
the art , and he style.
The smoothness of the animation adds to the style.
But when there is no art , there is no fucking style.
so give us all a break with your fucking squiggly flying lines.
