if my comander told me to kill a bunch of innocent children to make an example, i would refuse and do all i could to prevent him from doing so, even if it ment shooting him.

but if the children were firing at us, and my comander told me to kill them, i would since they were a threat, however i would know that it would haunt me forever and it would be very long untill i could live with myself.

if i went to war, i would ask for forgiveness for every soldier i killed.
i would hope every kill was as painful as the first, because killing should never be easy, and once it is, you loose part of your humanity and soul.

I agree, it is hard to predict what you would do in a situation. OR what your comrades would do. I think there would be a kind of 'mateship/peer-pressure' and a sense or responsibility to your unit - that is, one in, ALL in. You would feel a sense of obligation to take part in the activity. Morally right or not.
Of course killing children is 'wrong'. And modern media loves to tear apart the soldier who shot the chld who was about to throw a grenade at your posistion. I would like to say the world was based on commonsense and that everyone would understand a threat. Like the example given, but alas it is not so.

I would like to see some examples of Iraqis using women and children as shields...Also, i would like information on which groups of Iraqis do this, and where in Iraq this is taking place.

This reminds me when I was a marine a few years ago...I was in iraq at the time, I am a bomb specialist and after 9/ll I was called. My mission was to destroy a school and a hospital, the school was already destroyed by terrists when we got there, but I still had to destroy the hospital. Im not gona go into specifics because its classified. But I planted the bomb... and killed 50 babys ages newborn to 1. And I also killed 100 people. I feel like crap to this day what i did, but I got over it after I went to therapy. I got screwed up for 3 years mentally until I was done with therapy. Im still sad to this day that I murdered inocent people. But, it was part of the job, even if you dont like it you still have to no matter what, or the country puts you in jail.
