At 6/9/07 01:16 AM, Canas wrote:
Perhaps I wouldn't feel so insulted had your accusations of Tal actually been true.

Well he's done it before. That I am certain of (I was informed). He has also proven himself to stalk me a bit. He's quite obsessed with me apparently. Just take a gander at his post history. Both Tal-con and Grammer.

As a very opinionated person, I never doubted my own ideals. But only a short while ago I came to the conclusion that no matter how right I may think I am, it doesn't make what I believe true. Realizing your own mistakes and acknowledging them is one of the most difficult things to do for someone like myself, and I imagine you're far off experiencing something as humbling as that.

Haha if I actually made a mistake I would admit it. I don't think you know me well enough to determine how honest I am with my shortcomings. I've made a thread parading how my girlfriend cheated on me, about how my ferret died causing me to have an emotional breakdown. I made a thread about my new cat... It's not all politics and "listen to my wisdom" etc..

Anyway, theres a difference between just political views, and actual facts. I tend to base my entire argument on statistics, studies, etc.. and you can't refute a lot of the facts I provide. So it's not a matter of me possibly being wrong due to being a fallible human with biases and opnions. It was fact vs. a myth. My own views should have had nothing to do with it.

If someone really questioned the validity and wanted to get to the bottom of it, they should have provided alternate sources or information instead of trying to make my points invalid by attacking me personally, making their views seem correct by default.

Unlike Dr. Phil, my analysis is usually based off more than generalized psychology books and five minute judgments. As tame as you may have been in creating this topic, I really don't believe you thought that a flame war wouldn't soon follow.

Well you're wrong then. I didn't think the topic of beer would cause someone to bring up healthcare and war.

Moving on to the more exciting realm of Canas versus Cellardoor...

I read what you both said to each other. I didn't read it to the point of analyzing. From my professional* position in the field of pyschology, I would say that cellar does have some sort of superiority complex. But then again so do I. So do a lot of people here, and it's not hard to develop an e-superioty complex on NG. All you have to do is be mildly intelligent and intuitive. And like, 18+. That being said, it's no strike against him, and we can't even prove whether or not it's strictly e-.

And if you're going to post a counterargument, make sure one can tell what the fuck you're saying, because all I got out of that a bunch of roundabout "blah-blah" about malt and liquor and there was no page reference or anything.

Curious to see what you may have been on about, I peeked at the first link he provided. It's just an informal bloggish type thing written by some dude. It's not cold hard facts. It's kind of a story. The writer pokes fun at both countries and their stance on beer. It's not relevant to the alc % calcuations.

Granted, the article didn't bash Canadian opinions like cellar sort of implies, but it wouldn't matter if it did because the link is just as good as if it were a post by another user. An official poll? A documented contest? A scientific experiment? Sure. But it wasn't, so there was no biting-back-in-the-ass involved.

I`m going to try and avoid the on-going flame wars and stick to the point...

beer.

I love beer, the only bad part about it is the high calorie count it has. Either way, I like the taste, the effect it has on me, and the effect it has on others.

I don`t care what countrie it is from, I just want it to be good, cold, and injected in my veins :D

Would you believe this from worldofbeer.com?

If not, let's consult the drug library. "Canadian beer usually contains 5% alcohol by volume"

Now, if you use this this converter, you'll see that 5% by volume is only equivalent to about 3.5% alcohol by weight, so only 3.5% alcohol by American standards.

I can't find anything that says what the typical alcohol % of American beer is. But I found this list of 200 Popular American beers that includes their alcohol content. The average is about 4.5% (take a look). Now since these are American beers they are measuring it in % by weight, not % volume.

So if we take another trip to the converter, we can convert 4.5% by weight and find that it is equivalent to 5.7% by volume.

This means that American beer has more alcohol content than Canadian beer when the alcohol contents are converted to the same unit of measurement. This isn't conclusive, but I don't understand how you can still cast doubt on it.

Granted, the article didn't bash Canadian opinions like cellar sort of implies

I didn't imply that it bashed Canadian opinions in and of itself, it actually referred to Americans as "yanks" about 20 times.

hey canas hows about you shut your fucking mouth? youre just looking for an excuse to assert your dominance over cellardoor just because you disagree with what he's saying. i like how each and everytime a topic is made with the purpose of instigating americans, no moderator dare does a THING against it. take for example this thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=70 5400

it was stated that it was made to instigate DELIBERATELY by the topic starter, and only after i pestered jade did she show sense enough to lock it. i tried to get maus too, but EACH time i brought up the issue she simply avoided the question. you moderators are horribly biased, don't even deny it. lmao watch canas try to justify the their horribly biased moderating desperately even though he knows the truth.

People don't use that term anywhere except for Australia and parts of the UK. If you referred to a guy here as a "bloke" they probably wouldn't know wtf you were talking about. They might consider it an insult.

No, I'm sick of you stalking me and revolving your entire participation in any thread around me personally while entirely ignoring the topic. Pretty simple. If you actually replied to the issue instead of dedicating all your posts to me I wouldn't care if you post in my thread or not.

But your alt behavior was incredibly stupid. I know "heyguysimbackk" was you. You prove that you have no desire to behave normally, you have to stalk me, and go to great lengths to make numerous alts to stir shit up. So knock it off and talk about the issue for once, please.

Dude, you can't even put vodka in the same category of beer in anyway. They are two entirely separate drinks, made entirely differently, that are drank in an entirely different way.

Plus, most Russian vodka is utter shit. You should read about how it is produced, and what they do to cut costs, like mixing it with run-off and so forth. The only good stuff is hundreds of dollars for a fifth gallon. And other less expensive good stuff is usually not Russia at all.

Here goes cellardoor on another stupid rant about how America is superior.

ou like your country, we get it. We like our countries, and all you ever prove is what an ignorant douche bag you really are.

Now, I am not a beer fan, the taste to me is... well, to bitter. I am into rum, rye, gin, vodka myself. But when I do have beer it is always imported, whether it be english (guiness is my favorite), but German beer dominates all. (in my opinion).

So, America beer won more awards, I can't argue with that. But all I can say is that the way you posted it was very childish. "LOL AMERICA BEER IS BETTER HAHA CANADA SUCKS". You have no reason to constantly pick on Canada the way you do. For that matter, I have seen you bring down Australia, new Zealand, England and many others on a constant basis. i get it, you like your country, and I respect that. But The way you boast about it makes you look like a douche.

Yet, you were somewhat angered by the way we tote our beer, yet you do the same thing with your country.

I still haven't forgiven the asians for pearl harbor.
