I agree. There should of been a panel of judges despite the fact it was Tom's Honeymoon. I feel really bad for the users who actually put time and effort into their artwork, yet they don't even get an honorable mention. In my opinion, Stamper and Utah should at least do a Re-vote for 3rd and 4th spot while still keeping the previous winners of those places.

I have to admit, I was really hoping for a t-shirt this time round, cause I felt I put a decent amount of effort and thought into my piece like many other people did, but to see some of the winners that seriously look like they took 5 seconds to make win kinda pisses me off.

I wasn't annoyed that I didn't win anything in the previous contests because each winner deserved their place.

I'm sad because I didn't win. I did put a lot of effort into mine, and I was proud of it... but I guess it wasn't FUNNY ENOUGH FOR TOM, OH NO, MUCH TOO RESPECTFUL OF HIM AND HIS LOVELY WIFE. I see how it is, Mr. Fulp. It's ON.

Oh well, there's always the next one.

I thought Best of April was the best of the lot. It was a hilarious idea, but maybe needed more/better art to win? But, since this contest was actually about you I guess it's OK for you to pick whatever you want.

The first page of the art threads always hold the winners.

The effect was good on Zekey's picture. Shadows and all.

i find mogly's to not only be the most hilarious but also well drawn.

Guys,.. I don't know. I always disagree with one or two winners. Sometimes I feel really bad for good artists to be forgotten, like cheddar (who had 2 great entries) this time, or Mateys on the cereal box contest. Buuuut... I never feel like complaining to the judges, and I also don't feel good when you guys do... Just imagine yourself in their places, having to narrow your choices down to a few entries, knowing you'll let a lot of good people sad. They have a hard time for sure, and I think they deserve to get more than just complaints in return. I, for one, am very glad that these contests exist and grateful there's good people to judge, even though I might disagree with them (most of the times).

Well as far as I am aware these armt like "Official" newgrounds art contests, but more somthing fun for the people who work at newgrounds to do and a way we can all interact and have fun. So though you get the proper "Art Contest" type posts we also just get the weird stuff to do as well. This is after all a community and really you just have to follow the rules from post to post, so whilst One is based on art, another may be based on humour..which..didnt go too well.

How ever I think the only real problem is that no one could know how Tom would judge submissions before hand so the main problem is that we went into it with out own preconseptions of ...wait did I spell that right....crap theres no spell check here...bugger...er where was I . the problem is that we did submissions for a contest using our own notions of how Tom would Judge making the results totally random but understandable.
And this was just one competition, the new one will hopefully be posted soon, hopefully it will be a Draw Stampers perfect Woman competition. That would be sweet

Hey, thanks a lot! Yeah, I should have spent more time on it, instead of rushing it. Thing is, whenever I get a good idea, I always feel they're too obvious and think someone will do it first.
Then I rush!

This is the reason why I entered, I could have been saving my money for an iMac notebook and Adobe Flash CS. Now I have to suffer by using Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition and Selteco Flash Designer 5, which is a bad combination.

Yeah I know, I bitched as soon as I heard the results of the competition. I was pissed but I'll still continue to submit work to these competitions. I think it was tough in this contest because we were catering to one persons needs. Unfortunately my style didn't reflect this and like Tom said if he ranked them based purely on how much they made him laugh, all the winners would be obscene sketchings and all the good artists would be totally discouraged. I know he tried to balance things out but we are seeing a trend of certain styles breaking through to the finalists. Now thats not to say they don't all deserve it, I'm just feeling a little frustrated because an ART competition should be more about a GREAT combination of the two. Cool idea with cool drawings... If we wanted another 'great ideas but don't worry about the drawing aspect' competition we should all look back to the vending machine disaster.

At the end of the day, this is just my opinion, had to get this off my chest cause I'm a whiny little bastard that can't let things go. This does mean that I will have to work on my PENIS and SCAT drawings a little more...so get ready for some TOP quality cock sketches!

Wow I got honorable mention for something that took me barely an hour to draw in Photoshop... imagine if I'd taken...(GASPS) TWO hours :-O

Lol, I know my one wasn't visually appealing but I'm happy it made Tom laugh, cracks me up that he said it got bumped up the rankings, sound like something they did whilst drunk and then woke up the next morning thinking 'Oh noes!'

Don't worry about it Cheddar! Your complaint was OK. Your work was great and you asked for criticism and all. It's when people say "There should be a revote" or "Damn, I lost to a Paint sketch! Tom can't choose!" that worries me.
