Graphire: The home model. It's the lesser featured of the lot with a small space. But it's still not bad: you do get your money's worth and then a bit more.
Intuos: The professional model. It's the big brother and the most you get for your cash from it. More expensive, but it's worth it for the features and better technology.
Then you fall into Wacom's line of LCD tablets, which are just way out of average price ranges.
I believe it said it's only 4x5 inches. That's pretty small compared to what I've seen people normally use but it is a lot cheaper than those other ones as well.

I have the graphire3 (older model, same size) and I heart it! :D
That's the tablet I use, and it is quite nice to use. It can, in theory, be good for drawing anything, but it doesn't make you good at drawing anything. You have to be good at drawing things yourself in the first place. It is nice being able to draw with a stylus straight onto the computer though.
To answer your question, yes, it is a good tablet.
There the same ones i use at my school. They work very nicely. Going to get some getting used to though. Really good for photoshop.
