Remember when MTV was good?

If your older you migth rmeber but MTV didn't always show crappy reality shows and crap... At one point they even showed music videos.. and there was only MTV, no MTV Base or mtv2 or any of the other channels.

If you turn on mtv right now it'll either be something about celebrties no one has heard or no cares about.. some show about americans being idiots ( omg sweet 16... vomit).. prehaps some random cartoon from another channel or a programme about some you've heard of but don't care about (like Jenifer lopez..).

Back in the day, you turn on MTV and you'd get a msuic video of somehtnig good. or prehaps Beavis and Butthead, a cartoon that was actually good.

There was no programmes about paris hilton back then, no shows about spoiled teenagers and nothing about hasbeen 'gangsta's pimping someones car.

Best thing, back then there were less adverts... and NO adverts about mobile phone ringtones and shit like that...

I actually do remember, but I don't think the major factor of change in quality is the channel; I think it's society.

Back then, technology wasn't near where it is now. Music was different, people were different, world issues were different. The world wasn't quite the same.

Back to the music thing, though -- people are constantly complaining about the decline of music lately. It only makes sense that a channel based on music would lose some of its quality.

It's kind of a decade thing.

Beavis and Butthead kicked the arse of anything that's on it now. Right from this rap and indie bullshite to Hogan Knows Best. The best thing modern MTV has ever shown is the song Pick of Destiny by Tenacious D. I also once thought they showed Slipknot-Before I Forget, but it was most likely a dream. They don't have that much sense.
