At 7:14am Timothy McVeigh was excited by lethal injection. I just want to read some of your thoughts about this day. My thoughts; This man killed 100+ people in that building on that day. If I was one of the families of the victims, I would want that man dead. Everyone is always saying "Think of the children!". Well he killed 19 children that day. Timothy McVeigh is dead. My feelings are 50/50 thou. Just like war, an execution is a last resort.

However, by bringing up the "What if it was my family member" argument, you are merely bringing the issue out of the abstract and into subjectivity. Issues like this one should be looked at in the abstract; I'm sure anyone would say "KILL 'EM" initially if it was a family member.

I dunno, he died the death many people pray for, he just sorta went to sleep. Unlike the victims who were either blown to bits or died on impact after falling 20 stories. It didn't quite satisfy the need for revenge that I think the families wanted. Maybe if it was the electric chair, or like a firing squad, that may be the revenge that the families needed. Then again, maybe he should rot in prison. He is now a celebrity (which is what I'm sure he wanted), but in jail he would be a nobody. There are pros and cons to every situation. No matter what, I do believe he deserved to die. I'm sorry, that's just how I feel.

having a brother die in that bombing i am still rather against the death penalty. Although i am glad timothy Mcveigh is gone I still feel that the death penalty is out of control in some states. The fact that Timothy Mcveigh's execution was basically a spectator sport with the crowds outside the prison disgusts me. It shows no respect for victims families.

One word: Texas! They practically executed you if you get a speeding ticket! Capital Punishment should be used ONLY when it's truly needed, not as a way to clear out prisons!

I'm against the death penalty.
However, given that they did execute him, I think they should have broadcast it publicly. they should have shown it for what it was. Then maybe, people would have had a different attitude to it. What game is the government playing when it has to hide things from people?

How does this government justify killing by killing? They should have just gave him a life sentence, the inmates would have killed probally. I would have just blown up the building not the people, killing just spawns more killing....silly people..

Timothy had the right idea. The government deserved that.

Geri: Whether the government deserved it or not (and this is coming from someone who is very anti-government and pro-conspiracy), the people who died didn't. They were just pawns in the game. Especially the children. They of all people weren't even vaguely aware of the larger picture, even if the adults were.
